‘An elegant matinee performance of the symphony called for a sophisticated look’ … so said "Barbie Fashion: Volume 1" by Sarah Sink Eames. I have wanted this outfit ‘Matinee Fashion’ from 1965 complete for ages as my mother had a very similar jacket to this back in the 60’s, which I think started my lifelong love of leopard print fur trim! I already had a vaguely TLC version of the jacket and dress that was a gift from my collecting BFF Dean, but wanted the complete outfit as that pillbox hat is quite unique; - (I call it her ‘Emirates Airline’ look! LOL… Her chiffon veil is absolutely perfect, with no holes or anything!) I know that everyone always puts this outfit on an AG and I tried it on all of mine, but it looked best on my red-lipped brunette swirl. And in a rare bit of era mixing, I added the black Alligator-stamped vinyl clutch purse from a Superstar era ‘Fashion Add-ons’ Pak from 1978 for a finishing touch! She is enjoying a day out on the town with brunette SL Ken in ‘Saturday Date’, one of my all-time favourite vintage Ken outfits.
