The Melges 24 World Championship 2018 is being hosted in Victoria BC Canada by the Royal Victoria Yacht Club organized in co-operation with the International Melges 24 Class Association and Canadian Melges 24 Class Association. Racing got underway June 2-3 with the Melges 24 Canadian Championship as a pre-event, followed by the Melges 24 Worlds from June 5-9. The boats were racing offshore close to where I live. Being Class Boats they are all the same, 24 feet, white hull, grey sails and black masts. When the wind is right they put up their colourful Spinnaker sails which can be a variety of bright colours, better for photo's too. Boats and teams are from Italy, Great Britain, Australia, United States and of course Canada. The background is Washington State only 18 miles away from Victoria.
Recently turning 21, I haven't been to many bars or breweries. Some friends suggested we visit Greysail and Beer'd, and of course I brought my camera along. Greysail's coffee belgian stout was one of the best stout's I've ever had.
