An old home near Fredricksburg Virginia taken about 1990. A friend of mine, someone who I grewup with, lived not too far from this place on a horse farm she owned.
Nicely proportioned and solidly built, this modest sized house had rather low ceilings (the front door was 6'8" tall). Upstairs the window sill started below my knees and, if I recall correctly, the top of the window hit about where my eyes are (I'm 5'-7"). Still, a lovely little home, that I am sure is long gone. This area has been undergoing a building boom for about the last 17 years or so. My friend sold her horse farm about three years ago, to developers, and moved to Texas & her new farm, where land was less expensive.
i got tagged by miss kate...16 things about me...
1. i look insane in this picture, although i am not. the jury may still be out on that.
2. i have been obsessed with photography forever. i have to admit, though, when i used film, i was lame. i only ever took pictures of these flowers in my parents backyard. because they turned out (most of the time), i was too scared to try and take pictures of anything else. i am super excited to get back into it someday.
3. i begged my pediatrician when i was in my early teens to do this procedure they did to gary coleman on "diff'rent strokes" because he was so short. and so was i at that time. i was only 4"9'. i am now 4"11'. he wouldn't do the test because IT WASN'T REAL. it was on tv. i had to just get over it.
4. i do not take compliments well.
5. the reason for the above is i have ugly duckling syndrome. i had surgery when i was 2 for crossed eyes, and i wore some braces on my feet when i was little because i couldn't walk right. i had red frizzy hair growing up and coke bottle glasses. i always feel slightly lame on the inside.
6. my mother dealt with all the above neurosis by putting me in dance lessons and telling me i was fine the way i was, and that good looks can go away, but smarts and being a nice person never does.
7. flickr and photography brought me out of a dark spot in my life. about 4 years ago i injured my back working in the e.r., and i was off of work for awhile, and got pretty down. i started the 365 project to learn to use my old point and shoot, and look where i am today.
8. my favorite part of my body is my butt. i always check it out in the mirror before i leave my house.
9. i have had the same best friend since i was 6. sometimes we don't talk for months, but we always pick up just where we left off.
10. i never grewup wanting to be a nurse. i always assumed i would be a dancer.
11. my name was supposed to be lisa. my dad went and put my name on the birth certificate while my mom was passed out.
12. i always try to see the good in people.
13. i have always wanted to learn to play the drums. like really bad. i have an image of me playing behind some cool rock band in my mind, and that i would be great. although i cannot drum to any rhythm in reality.
14. i used to have a really nice singing voice. then i ruined it smoking cigarettes. i quit a long time ago.
15. i never thought i would get married. i thought i would live alone with like 5 cats. but i found my husband, and he is my best friend, and my biggest supporter.
16. i am a huge dork, and i am proud of it. i was just dancing all over the house with a towel on my head singing various songs from"the sound of music."
Lee is the nicest State Trooper that does Details at our club. She is also a very good freind, who grewup in the club.
Samuel "Sam" Burl Kinison was born on December 8, 1953 in Yakima, Washington. He grewup to become first a revival style preacher but had to abandon that career when he divorce his first wife. Essa árvore e eu viemos ao mundo juntas. Meu pai plantou, dentro de casa perto do portão, assim que eu nasci. Cresceu comigo e hoje tem 25 anos!

Brooke Buckles,4, works on her putting skills at the Putt Putt Golf Course on the Bluff City Highway on Friday as her dad looks on. Brooke along with her sisters were with their dad, Cliff and grandmother Pat Buckles. The family is from Denver and was in town to celebrate Pat Buckles birthday with a game of putt putt and lunch at Blue Circle burgers next door. Cliff grewup in Birstol and was reliving his youth as he did the same things growing up.

I love this eagle for some reason. It was a house warming present from my Aunt, so I guess we got it around 1987-88ish. It sits above the front door of the house I grew up in.
I took this on Christmas Day while up to visit the family.

UNITED STATES: 2018: Alan Corbin relaxes at home on Corbin Road in Warrenton, Virginia. Today, Alan, 93, and his wife of 72 years, Clay, live quiet lives on Corbin Lane, adjacent to the house where Alan grew up. Here Alan gets out in his garden with his wife Clay to do a little work. Walking is hard on the hilly terrain so he uses a lawn tractor to move about then a cane once he is in the garden. (Douglas Graham/Wild Light Photos)

Never have I seen a more perfect Black & Tan puppy. Sophia’s brown coloring is literally on fire with brilliant red/golden color. Her nose and ears are absolutely perfect. I only regret not taking more pictures as she grewup...
