I had the pleasure of visiting AC/DC's High Voltage Dive Bar in Minneapolis on Thursday, April 10, just hours before the debut of their Power Up US Tour, and it was a truly fantastic experience!
AC/DC's phrase "In Rock We Trust" is a tribute to Malcolm Young, the band's co-founder, rhythm guitarist, and songwriter. The phrase appeared on the "Rock or Bust" album artwork, where Malcolm's and Angus's guitars were depicted with the phrase underneath. It was a way for the band to honor his contributions and lasting influence on AC/DC.

A favorite among Blues Guitar players the Hot Rod Guitar made by the Gretsch Guitar Company has a rather twangy sound, but so versatile.
One of the many talented street performers in the New Orleans French Quarter. Captured this past summer with my Minolta Autocord on Portra 160 film. Self developed in CineStill's C41 kit.
Caught this three piece band at Supercrawl on James St. N. in Hamilton on a rainy Friday night. Very animated energetic band that I would definitely go see again. Kudos to the lighting crew for this stage...well done!
Another member of the family...Ms. Jangly-Jangly...I will probably figure out a few more ways to photograph this beauty...
Did you ever wonder what it would look like if you photographed your friend close up playing guitar with a Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM lens?
I did too, so I asked him to just keep playing and set the camera to an Appeture of F/1.2 and shutter speed of 1/100 second and blazed away.
Please click on All Sizes in the menu above to see details.
No Photoshop here this is right out of the camera. The out of focus area is from the lens and the blur on each end is the movement as he played the guitar.
My friends guitar is a Gretsch my camera is a Canon 5D Mark II digital.

Gruene Hall, built in 1878, is Texas’ oldest continually operating and most famous honky tonk dance hall. By design, not much has physically changed since the Hall was first built. The 6,000 square foot dance hall with a high pitched tin roof still has the original layout with side flaps for open air dancing, a bar in the front, a small lighted stage in the back.
Gruene Hall has also become a place where working songwriters, such as John Hiatt or Rodney Crowell, Kevin Welch or Jim Lauderdale, can try out new material or just take a breather between tour dates; where music icons such as Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley, Merle Haggard or Kris Kristofferson can play in a more intimate venue; where former “up and comers” such as Garth Brooks, Chris Isaak or the Dixie Chicks can extend their tour; and where big names such as Willie Nelson and Aaron Neville have chosen to perform.
