I have planted this grenade tree this spring. Unfortunately the fruits are all falling off very early. Its very hot and dry this year in Southern France.
These are some custom overmolded stick grenades I have had for quite some time and here they finally are!
This is a hand grenade on farm land near Thiepval. Over large areas of farmland in France and Belgium may items from World War I are turned up by the plough every year, We were on a battlefield trip* and were warned if we found something do not pick it up, just inform our guide and he will take appropriate action. I have left the finder's shoe in the picture for scale.
My partners great uncle was killed at the battle of Loos within 12 hours of arriving, he had marched from the channel port in full kit and was sent straight into Battle. "Cannon Fodder"

How many of you have been to New Orleans and had the famed Hand Grenade cocktail. In the center of the photo you can see a young couple tightly in control of their grenades..:-) The alcoholic content is a bit of a trade secret although the internet suggests 5-6 ounces of various beverages topped with fruit juices.....I tried one, they are tasty and $8.00 a throw.
