Wishing you all the great things in life i hope this day bring you an extra share of all that makes you happy .... Merry Christmas...
Thank you for all wonderful photos that took me to places and events I could never really see. Whenever I was walking through your woods, cities, markets... I've enjoyed myself, endlessly.
Thank you for taking me on this wonderful journey and for letting me see the world through your eyes. In doing so, I've learned something about you personally.
Thanks to your EXIF data, I've learned a lot about photography and photo gear.
Thanks to the challenge theme groups, I've become a much better photographer. If someone had told me three years ago that I would take pictures of rusty screws or shoes, I would have just laughed. That was incomprehensible to me at that time.
Of course, a big thanks to Flickr for bringing us all together in this virtual home.
I wish you all a healthy, successful and Happy New Year 2020.
‘Reimaginings’ are square-cropped images taken of marks, weathered paint, and rust seen by me in the urban environment which appeal to me as abstract shapes and forms. Some of these photographs are segments of faded and much repainted and over-painted graffiti surfaces, paint spills and general weathering.
Since you can download the photos - just use them for somebody who appreciates flower images. You can also add something like "Congratulations or Thank You" in your own language. There is still some space left. So feel free and enjoy what you're doing and what you can share here!
Needed a creative outlet during these days of curtailed photography, so I decided to take a whack at watercolor painting. I like the combination of line drawing with a watercolor wash. Full disclosure; this is my painting, but it's from a YouTube tutorial, not my imagination. I just follow along with the video and duplicate the best I can what they do. It's kinda like painting with training wheels, but I'm having fun with it.
EXPLORED #232 Thank you friends for your daily visits, your kind and supportive comments and fav'ing my photographs. Listen to Good Morning Starshine. Enjoy my fairies dancing in the grass.
I have made a decision to save my sanity and to keep Flickr fun for me instead of what's starting to feel too much like work. I will only be commenting and fav'ing from my photo's to reciprocate for those who have marked me as a contact, follow my work and are genuinely interested in commenting and fav my images. You can also find me on my new Flickr group Applauding Talent Around the World and hope to see you there too. I will also be taking weekends off to be with my children who are feeling like they are 2nd fiddle to Flickr!! I hope that I don't loose any of my Flickr friends but I must do what I must do.
Invites are always welcome, but please ... No multiples in the same comment or animated ones. View larger photos at Flickriver on Black

This was my second attempt at painting a bird. The first was a cardinal that ended up looking like a big red chicken. I'm doing these greeting card size to send out for Christmas cards.
Unusual card with a shell made with quilling, an ancient art form. Can't imagine the patience it took to produce this. Shell is less than 3" tall. Quilling Card LLC. July 2020.
According to the Old Farmer's Almanac:
Q: IS THE SUMMER SOLSTICE THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER?
A: Yes and no—it depends on whether we’re speaking meteorologically or astronomically. Most meteorologists divide the year into four seasons based on the months and the temperature cycle, which allows them to compare and organize climate data more easily. In this system, summer begins on June 1 and ends on August 31. Therefore, the summer solstice is not considered to be the first day of summer, meteorologically speaking.
Astronomically, however, the first day of summer is said to be when the Sun reaches its highest point in the sky, which occurs on the summer solstice (June 20–22). Therefore, the summer solstice is considered to be the first day of summer, astronomically speaking.
As an almanac, which is defined as a “calendar of the heavens,” we prefer to follow the astronomical interpretation of the seasons and do consider the first day of summer to coincide with the summer solstice. That being said, you may choose whichever system you like best!
