R614 eases down the Cloverlick spur with a set of tubs bound for Newport News. CSX has recently acquired several hundred ex-WSCX tubs from up north in the Michigan area, placing them in pier service and mixing them into their regular coal trains across the system. The first instance I noted of their presence was March 25th of this year when the full set loaded here at Lynch still with their WSCX reporting marks, later patched with CSX lettering and numbered in the 401xxx series. They are becoming much more notable now, at least a couple found in majority of export trains, this one being no different.

Our playful activities helped visitors learn about sustainable living, clean energy, electric vehicles, green homes, healthy food, and resilient communities. Dozens of participants pledged to take climate action this year -- and had their photo taken in front of our big earth globe.

CSX 5121 is one of only a handful remaining units in the 5100 series on CSX's roster, being an extra 20+ AH44CWs purchased after CSX1-599 were filled. With the active rebuilds underway, this units days are definitley numbered, seen here trailing on R614 at Lynch 3.
