4771 'Green Arrow' hauls it's rake of 'Teaks' through Esk Valley towards Green End on a beautiful March 30th 2008.
So I’ve finally gotten around to reading Kevin Smith and Phil Hester’s Green Arrow run and man is it solid! It came out at a time after Oliver was killed in a helicopter bombing and the first arc is about him returning to his old life because of Hal Jordan as The Spectre bringing him back without his memories many years later! (yes, I agree it's very convoluted)
It’s a shame that Green Arrow didn’t continue on like this because reading it nowadays it feels like Daredevil and Batman were mixed together with a dash of Spider-Man humor! Not to mention that the art is just rad! There’s a sweet splash page where Green Arrow looks like a badass hobo wearing green trash bags and using empty bleach bottles and soda cans on sticks as arrows! It’s wild! :P
And for those who will ask redundant questions and inevitably not read the descriptions: The arrow-less Compact Bow was from BigKidBrix like 4-5 years ago. The Arrows are from BrickWarriors, Onomatopoeia was printed by SFXMinifigures, GA was printed by that jerk named CyclopsBricks.
Anyway! Be sure to check out Patreon this week for an in-depth look at how I built the clock tower, how I planned and sketched the photoshoot out, how I edited everything, AND see bonus figs and images too! :)
Or heck, pick this one up as a print on my Redbubble!

I dunno how I hadn't thought to do this yet... I already even did Superman, why not everyone? We've got Green Arrow, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Superman, Green Lantern, Cyborg, Hawkman, and Martian Manhunter.
I had the idea for Aquaman first, and went from there. Some were very easy, like the middle three, some came together pretty quickly in surprising ways, like Green Arrow and Hawkman, but I had so much trouble with Wonder Woman. Did at least ten versions haha. This is what I came up with though, and I think it turned out well.

So uh… this was what I was working on when Minneapolis went haywire back in May….
A pretty big project that needed a lot of attention and it just sort of got dropped in favor of… well life and more pressing things at the time. But now as things have to settled down a little here in my personal life (sorta) so I could actually return to work on this big piece.
And yes, you can all say it out loud… I recreated another Darwyn Cooke piece! :P
This has got to be my busiest work yet! There was so much going on and so much to juggle that I was literally pulling my hair out at one point or another. Everything from the planning, the redesining of the set, the set-ups for figure placement, the lighting, the huge post-production edit… oof... it was a lot!
Thirty minifigures in one photo has got to be a new record for me! :P
Anyway, if you’re not familiar, this shot was heavily inspired by Darwyn Cooke’s cover of his book, Graphic Ink: The DC Comics Art of Darywn Cooke. Basically it was a greatest hits hardcover that was put together just a year before his death that featured some of his earliest works, up to his 2014/2015 New52 Cover variants and other inking and artistry stuff. The dude’s portfolio was out of this world!
His art really brings me a kind of passion and inspiration and joy that I really try to bring to my own art, so I really hope I conveyed that same feeling to you guys :)

Very heavily based off Oliver's Rebirth Design but with a few tweaks based on the parts that are on offer, (I wish there was a green or dark green variant of those boots, they'd be perfect)
Leg woes aside, I do really love how the figure turned out overall, and I've got the workings of a few other Green Arrow Figs, however I'm just awaiting an Order for some parts for Red Arrow.

LNER V2 60800 'Green Arrow' photographed at KInchley Lane, on the Great Central Railway.
1st September 2002.
This shot and build was based on (or inspired by?) one of the best season openers from the animated Justice League series. Featuring none other than Lab9Minifig's recent Captain Atom, among many more familiar faces! :)
This may looke pretty simple, but there was a lof of little details involved with how I lit the photo. So if you wanna know how I did it, of just want to see more of this build Patreon has it all! In fact it's got my reveiw/opinions on this new fig, plus clear shots of the other figures, plus a video showing off the edit for the entire photoshoot, along with bonus fully edited shots featuring the Trinity, and a whole heap of content from past posts!
So jump over to my Patreon where there's seven exclusive posts (not including this one_ about all that stuff! Check it out! :)

So I know I'm pretty late to the party, but man, the holiday's are hard to schedule around! I'm finally getting back into my groove, and what a great way to really start off my 2017, than with this fantastic figure!
Myles has done it again, bringing us probably one of, if not the most sorely lacking versions of Green Arrow in the Lego community! It's amazing that no one has jumped on printing a Bronze Age/Neal Adams GA until now! Seriously, if you haven't already, go buy this fig! CyclopsBricks are selling a couple color variants of this fig (Bright/Dark Green) and almost immediately they've both been prepped for many projects to come! It's a good price for a fig, great quality PAD Printing ...yeah this sounds like an ad or something... (They didn't pay me to do this!) :P
(To tell you the truth though, the Dark Green fig is sold with a hood, and the bright green is sold with the cap. I combined the two for the sake of artistic integrity, but I figured I should probably point it out so no one gets upset :P)
Anyway, this alley build was a pretty quick set up with just a bunch of greebling, nothing fancy. It's kinda inspired a teeny tiny bit by my love for Phil Hester's and Bruce Timm's re-design's of the character and their respective Star City's!
Patreon has a few more images of the build if you wanna check those out, plus an alternate take of this image as well!
Yeah geez, all I want now is a Black Canary to accompany him! You hear that Myles? Get on it! :P
ps. GO BUY THIS FIG SO THEY CAN MAKE MORE FIGS! I don't think I could stress that enough :P

The train, which originated from Euston, was named The Norfolkman in recognition of Bill Harvey, a onetime shedmaster at Norwich who played a major part in the restoration of GREEN ARROW. The railtour also marked the return of steam to the Settle & Carlisle line.

Last bunch. Tbh, I only really needed three, but I liked the combo I used on Firestorm so he's here too. So the last four members of the bit off JL are:
Cyborg - I've had this design knocking around for ages, I just called it the original look for Overlords Cyborg. Pretty basic, not that interesting.
Green Arrow - Something possessed me to give him a cloak, and whalla.
Martian Manhunter - Ngl, he's the only one of this bunch to have an actual distinct look. It's basically his Manhunter uniform from before he came to Earth.
Firestorm - Gave him Calender mans legs cos I've been wanting to use them for a while
And that's the lot. I've got some villains put together, so keep an eye out for them. They're actually fairly distinctive, so that's something I guess. When that's uploaded I'll be back to the usual poorly rendered digital mocs. As always, please lemme know what you think :D

aka The Glorified Super Friends
Now this shot tends to be nothing special, but has long been in my head to create. Considering all of these (with the exception of my newer onlinesailin GL) have each had their share of the spotlight. I felt it only fair to put all of their collective super-ness in one place.
All things considered, now that my Flash series has come to a close, I find myself in a dry spell for newer content. I've got a few Arrow, Superman, and standalone characters coming soon, but only a couple shot yet.
More will come, but all in due time.
But anyway, feel free to leave some feed back, or even suggestions for further projects. :)
Thanks guys :)
The emergency alarm rung loudly as Captain Boomerang quickly stuffed his bags with cash from The Keystone City National Bank. He knew it was only minutes before The Flash would arrive on the scene. Rummaging through a final cash drawer he heard glass shatter from above him!
“Entering through the skylight isn't typically your style Flash!” Harkness mocked without even turning to face the noise.
“I didn't know I even had a style...” said an unfamiliar voice
“Wait! You're not--” The Captain said shocked, turning around.
“Yeah...” the hooded figure spoke with a smirk on his face, “Red isn't really my color...”

Green Arrow!? Captain Boomerang?! Keystone City?! What the heck is going on!?
Tomorrow holds more surprises so keep watch!
BECAUSE SOME CUSTOMS GOT SOME UPDATES SO I DECIDED TO RE-POST THIS ;)

So recently while digging around the archive of scraps in my computer, I stumbled upon this old thing from a disappointing photoshoot from 2014!
If I recall correctly I had plans to tie this in with a Green Arrow shoot I had done earlier that year: flic.kr/p/nqN9u3 But inevitably, it just sort of fell through the cracks.
I had some mixed feelings about whether The Count was to have powers (comic cannon) or narcotics (CW cannon), for I was deep into the CW Arrow at the time and wanted to reflect that a bit. So this was my interpretation of the character as best I could from both view points.
I like the figure over all, but the random syringes I could do without next time, for I feel I could execute his powers better in post-production now than in the past.
Also, Fun Fact: This is the exact same build seen in The Dark Archer flic.kr/p/nq2gi5
This is MY OWN take on the Emerald Archer and I am definitely proud of it! This is by my favorite Custom of mine so far and he was not easy to create.
Pink azaleas, Green Arrow, and Black Canary. A colorful outing on this Spring day in Paprihaven.

When I scanned the slide for this image I struggled to identify the location and had to dig out an old notebook to confirm.I did visit another time but don't recall seeing any other shots here.Anyone care to guess where I was before I add the info
ADDITIONAL notes
4771 Green Arrow heads a northbound CME on 16/9/1989.The location is about 400yds south of Newbiggin station, from the Eastern side.I can only think it became available after some tree clearance but the bushes soon grew up and it disappeared again. The angle of the line here means it is only lit from this side in the early morning so it was difficult to get anything in sun

So you all remember that one time I made a Steampunk JLA, and then a Cowboy JLA, and then a modern JLA that pissed everybody off?! Well now here we are once again with the Medieval JLA! :P
I even came up with some bio’s for them this time!
L-R:
Sir Bartholomew The Swift. His father was caught in a fierce storm and was struck from the heavens, dying where he stood like a cooked hen. When his Mother was accused of witchcraft against his Father, it drove Bartholomew to never keep still and bring honor back to his family name.
Haldor The Emerald Warlock. Current bearer of the mystic Moss Agate, Haldor was abducted by mysterious forest guardians after discovering the body of the previous mystic bearer. Not much is known of him, but stories say the forest is filled with the magic users that keep peace across the land.
Sir Wayne of Gothshire, The Dark Knight. After witnessing his elders poisoned by the Jester of Gothsire, Brutus vows to wreak vengeance upon those who wish to reign chaos across his kingdom. With his young ward The Cardinal, they battle all who seek to ruin his home.
The Superb Kaleb Cadwell of Kryptoa. Found and raised by peasant potato farmers, Kaleb grew into a strong and noble man, set to keep his kin and country safe. A strong, stable, and noble man of many qualities is a hero to all! Nothing too great or small!
The Wolf of Themyscira. Little is known of The Wolf. Some say she is the sole descendant of an ancient people of warrior women from the Greek Isles. Others weave tales that The Wolf is Hades offspring, destined to roam the land for eternity. But only she knows her past, and she will not share it.
Sir Oliver of Greenland. The nobleman turned hero of the people. The once rich and powerful figure left his royal life to give back to his people in spite of Merlyn The Violet Archer taking his place on the throne. ...For now.
King Arthur of The Celtic Sea. A being known only as an deep ocean dweller, who comes to the surface once every four seasons to ward off any who claim to one day claim siege to his beloved drenched city. Most see him as nothing more than a hermit soaking in kelp, but only a small number of land dwellers know the true reign his grasp holds.

So I finally have gotten my hands on the new wave of DC sets and I am up to my ears in new figs (which is a very wonderful thing).
But before I really got into it with some of the new figs in new photoshoots, I wanted to showcase my updated JLA, which is almost a year old.
But anyway, this shot features Eight purist figs, Four Christo Figs, One onlinesailin figure, and a single eclipseGRAFX minifig to top it all off.
I'm very proud of how they've all turned out, and with time, we should be seeing them in their own shoots independently, in the coming months :)
But yeah, I'm super excited for this year and all the projects and figs I've got planned, and I can only hope you'll stick around with me to see them come to life :)
