The green bee-eater (Merops orientalis), also known as little green bee-eater, is a near passerine bird in the bee-eater family. It is resident but prone to seasonal movements and is found widely distributed across sub-Saharan Africa from Senegal and the Gambia to Ethiopia, the Nile valley, western Arabia and Asia through India to Vietnam. They are mainly insect eaters and they are found in grassland, thin scrub and forest often quite far from water. Several regional plumage variations are known and several subspecies have been named.
Like other species in the genus, bee-eaters predominantly eat insects, especially bees, wasps and ants, which are caught in the air by sorties from an open perch. Before swallowing prey, a bee-eater removes stings and breaks the exoskeleton of the prey by repeatedly thrashing it on the perch. Migration is not known but they make seasonal movements in response to rainfall. These birds are somewhat sluggish in the mornings and may be found huddled next to each other on wires sometimes with their bills tucked in their backs well after sunrise. They sand-bathe more frequently than other bee-eater species and will sometimes bathe in water by dipping into water in flight. They are usually seen in small groups and often roost communally in large numbers (200-300). The birds move excitedly at the roost site and call loudly, often explosively dispersing before settling back to the roost tree.[12] The little green bee-eater is also becoming common in urban and sub-urban neighborhoods, and has been observed perching on television antennae, only to launch into a brief, zig-zag flight formation to catch an insect, then return to the same perch and consume the meal. This behaviour is generally observed between the hours of 7:00 and 8:00am, and after 4:00pm.
The breeding season is from March to June. Unlike many bee-eaters, these are often solitary nesters, making a tunnel in a sandy bank. The breeding pairs are often joined by helpers. They nest in hollows in vertical mud banks. The nest tunnel that they construct can run as much as 5 feet long and the 3-5 eggs are laid on the bare ground in the cavity at the end of the tunnel. The eggs are very spherical and glossy white. Clutch size varies with rainfall and insect food density. Both sexes incubate. The eggs hatch asynchronously with an incubation period of about 14 days and the chicks grow fledge in 3 to 4 weeks and in the fledging stage show a reduction in body weight.

The name green bottle fly (or greenbottle fly) is applied to numerous species of blowfly, in the genera Lucilia and Phaenicia (the latter is sometimes considered a subgenus of the former). These flies are found in most areas of the world,primarily the Western Hemisphere and especially California. and the most well-known species is the common greenbottle, Phaenicia sericata (or Lucilia sericata, depending on authority), though there are other common species such as Lucilia caesar, Lucilia cuprina, Lucilia coeruleiviridis, and Lucilia illustris. The maggots of this fly are known to preferentially consume dead tissue while leaving live tissue intact, and so have been sold for use in maggot therapy, primarily during the years before the widespread use of antibiotics and medicines and in modern times due to a resurgence of medical literature documenting their effectiveness. These flies are known to lay eggs in cadaver tissue in the wild within hours after death. The developmental stage of their larvae in the cadaver can be used to accurately predict the time death occurred

Charmaine Green
Charmaine Green was born at Eradu railway siding, between Mullewa and Geraldton, in Western Australia. Her mother is Margaret Green (nee Papertalk) of the Wajarri and Wilunyu people. Her father is Charlie Green of the Badimaya people.
Charmaine has lived and worked in rural Western Australia for the past 47 years. She is a part-time researcher and educator at the WA Centre for Rural Health. Charmaine’s primary role as an educator is to teach university health science students to work successfully in Aboriginal health care.
Charmaine is a volunteer Director at Yamaji Art Centre and Geraldton Street work Aboriginal Corporation (Youth Organisation) in Geraldton where she volunteers her time in the arts and youth work. In 2015 Charmaine decided to take up the challenge of curating exhibitions due to what she saw as a lack of Aboriginal curators outside of cultural institutions and gallery’s and within rural and regional Australia. Charmaine’s arts experience is grounded in her extensive involvement in the Aboriginal Art Centre industry as a Director, visual artist, arts worker, Art Centre Manager and Chair of the Aboriginal Art Centre Hub WA. In August 2017 Charmaine had the opportunity to curate renowned Badimaya artist Julie Dowling’s Yagu Gurlbarl (Big Secret) exhibition at the Geraldton Regional Art Gallery.
Here are examples of two very different green coffee beans. The beans on the left are from the Malabar region in India.
One of the worlds most exotic coffees, Monsoon Malabar was discovered by accident when a cargo of coffee beans aboard a wooden-hulled ship acquired a unique tang after being somewhat exposed to the elements during a particular monsoon while negotiating the Cape of Good Hope. Exposed to the monsoon winds for a few weeks the coffee flavors become richer and smoother. Monsoon Malabar coffee is full bodied , very low acidity with a spicy woody flavor.
The beans on the right are from Colombia.
Colombian Supremo coffee is grown high in the Colombian Andes and is famous for it's smooth pleasant acidity, smooth finish, nutty overtones and rich medium to full body. Colombian coffee is the world's second largest producer of coffee and is famous for consistently producing fine gourmet coffees.
This is the "Green Gable" from Zephrknits.com I modified the bottom of it by echoing the lace portion featured in the neckline. Since this photo, blocking has added a bit of length to it, it's perfect!
