The green iguana is a large lizard typically grow to 1.2 to 1.7 m (3.9 to 5.6 ft) in length from head to tail. Despite their name, green iguanas occur in different colors and types. In southeastern Florida, they are seen occasionally in yellow and less often in orange. Green iguanas are primarily herbivores.

I had a great stack of matches on my desk, was moving it to my table to shoot this and it got messed up several matches slid out of place, so I scooped up the strays and put them back in. This time it was not so pretty with red and green alternating, this time it was like a binary code of red = 1 and green = 0. All was fun in the build 😊

Meet little Talifa.
A tricolor cat with piercing green eyes. If she could speak a language known to us, she would probably have a lot to tell. Not only humans suffer from war. Animals do as well.
When I lost my soul cat Feli unexpectedly after an operation, I felt mostly… lost. A couple of months after her death, I started looking at little creatures in need of a new home. Feli had taught me that love and caring for others mean the most. Still, I was not intending to adopt. The pain was too raw.
But then I saw a photo of little Talifa while browsing online for cats “nearby.” It turned out she was not nearby at all. She was over 2,000 km away from me, in a shelter in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Many animals evacuated from the frontline have found shelter there. In the photos and a video on the website, I saw a small, sad-looking, almost miserable little cat — and I realized that I could not stop thinking about her.
Eventually, I contacted a German animal protection organization that worked together with the shelter in Kharkiv. To make a long story short, I was allowed to adopt Talifa. Before being sent on her long journey, she had to undergo an operation in which all of her teeth had to be removed. After a recovery phase, she — along with other companions in need — traveled to Germany. They started on a Monday and arrived late on Wednesday evening.
I received a message in Ukrainian: “Hello, we will bring you a cat.” I will never forget how then shortly after this a huge truck stopped in front of my door. Along with some documents, I was handed little Talifa — a tiny, thin, and incredibly hungry cat. She had been shaved and looked even smaller than she actually was. She stepped out of the carrier and immediately began to purr — but once I showed her her food bowl, that clearly became the most important thing in the world.
Now her fur has grown back healthy and dense. She still has a great appetite, and I think I have earned her trust by now. In the beginning, every touch made her nervous. Today, always on her own terms, she lets me know when she wants to play — and sometimes her trust is great enough for her to snuggle up to me.
Talifa was rescued and sheltered by "Animal Rescue Kharkiv" (ARK). So many animals in need have been saved and sheltered by incredibly brave and caring people there. This organization should not go unseen. I try to donate regularly, and I will do my very best to take good care of little Talifa — who was saved by people who risked their own lives to do so. And I also know that some of them lost their lives while doing so.
I often wonder where Talifa lived, who her owners were, and what happened to them. And what she might have experienced without ever being able to understand or to tell it. We both lost someone and had to start anew. I can only hope she will be happy in her new home here. Living her new life. And I am trying to do so as well.

With an SD70MACe and ES44AC on the point, CSX intermodal train I141 has just gotten on the LCL Subdivision after departing from Cincinnati. Rolling through Erlanger, Kentucky as it heads southwest, the train crosses the bridge over the Bullock Penn Creek valley as it climbs away from the Ohio River.

In the summer of 2003, Crawford Hill on BNSF’s Butte Subdivision out of Alliance, Nebraska, featured at least three sets of Cascade green three-window EMD SD60M helper sets, mostly equipped with a fuel tender. On July 22, 2003, a trio of these former BN EMDs rolls downgrade at Breezy Point just west of Belmont, heading back to Crawford after pushing a BNSF coal train over the grade.
I spotted my first Green-veined White this weekend. I'm a bit behind on commenting but will catch up asap.
