There was a cloud deck around this morning at the Susquehanna River ... which is nice for landscapes, but not best for birding and action over the river.
But the Sony equipment did well in the low light conditions I think.

Before my trip to Texas I dreamed about seeing and photographing this fantastic Jay, it was at the top of my want list for the trip. It was very exciting the first day to see them and photograph them and I could not understand why the locals were just so nonchalant about this gorgeous bird, but after being in Texas a few days and seeing them so much I got it... I understood and even caught myself saying " Oh... it's just another Green Jay! " Life is funny!
I just love this part of the Peak District. I live nearby and can get there pretty easily. This part of the River Dove, whilst popular does not get the traffic that Dovedale gets. In fact I've hiked this section many times without seeing a soul - especially early in the morning. I took this shot handheld and I really like the colour of the water caused by the reflection of the overhanging trees
It's a green Bentley Azure.

The Robert C. Byrd Green Bank Telescope, or GBT, is the world’s premiere single-dish radio telescope operating at meter to millimeter wavelengths. Its enormous 100-meter diameter collecting area, its unblocked aperture, and its excellent surface accuracy provide unprecedented sensitivity across the telescope’s full 0.1 – 116 GHz (3.0m – 2.6mm) operating range. Seen from off the campus on Cas, Rd.
This place looks really beautiful und quiet. And it really is if you travel there early in the morning on workdays.
Otherwise you have to make your way through the crowd.
Displaying all of its charms, a Green Heron in breeding plumage crosses Horsepen Bayou presumably to get to the other side.
