Went to the beach tonight to get the setting moon, but the large black clouds rolling in cut the night a bit short. The waves were huge crashing over the pylons but with the 5 minute exposure @ f5 100 ISO the waves smoothed out. The red lights from the far shore are the wind turbines flashing. The white strip along the shoreline would be the waves cresting and reflecting the moons light.
Bob and I spent the evening curled up in a blanket to keep the cool wind at bay. ;-}
i woke up at 0330am this morning, left the house at 0415am and reached Oak Street by 0525am and parked in front of Drake Hotel....had enough time to scout around Oak Street beach for the spot to capture that moment when the skies would explode in full color as soon as the sun starts to peek out....me and another fella at this point just started shooting away...i even had shots with a couple of early morning swimmers splashing thru my frame, will post those later....pls.
