(8/31/15) our dusk to dawn light attracts insects which in turn attracts these guys to the house siding at night
Gray tree frog (Hyla versicolor.) I had initially identified this as a toad, based on its rough skin. My 13 year old, however, pointed out that it couldn't be a toad, as toads can't hop more than an inch. This little guy leapt a good 15 inches from the picnic table to the patio wall. A quick consultation with Professor Google confirmed that my 13 year old is smarter than I am. Sigh.

He jumped just as I took the picture, and landed on my camera.
