Glenwood Cemetery is one of the loveliest, old cemeteries in the near Downtown area. The artwork is so amazing. Enjoy my week of Halloween grave side art. What I couldn't help but wonder about this tombstone was why two lovely ladies were busy chatting. Was one the likeness of the person resting?

This is a smaller version of the more famous "bird girl" statue once located in the Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia. The original statue became famous after the movie "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" and had to be removed from the Bonaventure Cemetery and placed in a Savannah museum in order to protect the grave it once stood over.

Located in the Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, this mausoleum was built in 1880. It contains a circular stained glass window of a white dove surrounded by blue and orange. A picture of the orange and blue dove window is available.
Oakland Cemetery, considered a living cemetery in the Victorian sense, is in need of restoration and preservation work.

While glancing inside the Kiser Mausoleum, I noticed the sun light shining through a stained glass window.
The stained glass window visible in this shot is on the north side of the structure.
Captures an angel who has watched in silence for decades, draped in moss and time. The lone red flower in her hand — bright, deliberate, human — reminds us that memory is an act of defiance against forgetting.
In this quiet moment, we witness both eternity and the present converge.
