CPKC eastbound 416 (Eastport - Lethbridge) passes the last surviving grain elevator at Fort Macleod in the late afternoon sun. Not that long ago, there were four of these “prairie sentinels” standing guard here with this Alberta Wheat Pool elevator in the traditional green the only one left, accompanied now by only its weedy siding - MP 31.6 Crowsnest Subdivision.

Did some more fooling around in Lightroom. God bless this new denoise tool. At dusk, loaded grain heads east out of Summit on the Appleton Sub.

At least this day (a couple weeks ago) started out without fog. I asked the owner of this farm if the structures were still used. He said there was some corn in the bin and the old corn crib was used for equipment storage.

One of the bench seats at the Silo restaurant, which is a burger joint in Lewiston by the Niagara River.

UP 4013 and a BNSF motor team up collecting grain along the CP Detroit Lakes Subdivision. Its current train has loaded grain from CHS in Hazel south of Thief River Falls. The detector near Plummer found a problem mid-train, so it suffered a delay immediately after getting underway. It is seen here south of Brooks.
