Alex Houston House 1909, located in Langley British Columbia Canada. Interesting history in that Alex’s father James Houston is credited to be the first European to discover gold on the Fraser River resulting in the 1858 Fraser Canyon Gold Rush. This film image was captured with a 1952 Graflex Speed Graphic large format camera shooting 10x12cm sheets of Ilford HP5 film. The massive detail in the large format negative can’t be seen online but the image will be darkroom printed.
What can I say, I’m an analogue kinda guy.
Shown is my 1946 Smith Corona Sterling with my 1939 Graflex Speed Graphic camera and pocket watch sitting in a roll top desk of my own design and build. The early morning sun was streaming through the window signifying the start of a new day. I do use my tech gear extensively but it’s utilitarian. There is something tremendously freeing and satisfying about creating without the aid of a computer using just my eyes, mind and hands. Taken with Fujifilm XT3
