In the heart of Skopje, nestled within the green surroundings of Gradski Park and close to the Vardar River, stands the impressive Toše Proeski Arena – the national stadium of North Macedonia. Originally known as the Philip II Stadium, named after the ancient Macedonian king, it was later renamed in honor of the beloved singer Toše Proeski. With a capacity of over 33,000 spectators, it is the largest stadium in the country and home to the Macedonian national football team as well as FK Vardar and FK Rabotnički. The arena has a long history: first built in the 1940s, it has been renovated and modernized several times. A true highlight came in 2017, when it hosted the UEFA Super Cup between Real Madrid and Manchester United, putting the stadium firmly on the international football map. Yet the Toše Proeski Arena is more than just a sports venue. For the people of Skopje, it is a beloved meeting place. During regular league matches, admission is sometimes free or costs only a symbolic amount, allowing anyone to step inside. This accessibility has made the stadium a popular and welcoming spot for locals. What makes the arena unique is its setting: a modern and monumental concrete structure rising amidst trees, ponds, and walking paths. This photo captures this beautifully – the sharp lines of the grandstands contrasted with a small graffiti-covered bridge, calm water, and the park’s greenery. It shows how the Toše Proeski Arena symbolizes not only sport and major events, but also a place where city and nature, culture and leisure come together.

The Toše Proeski Arena, North Macedonia’s national stadium in Skopje, stands in the green heart of Gradski Park. More than a sports venue, it’s a popular meeting place where football, culture, and everyday city life come together.

So, my intentions were in the right place, but it musta been the wrong time…Friday night and a full moon – I haven’t been out light painting in about a hundred years so I threw my will power a twist and did not imbibe after the long hot day…once the moon started to come up I scurried out the door to catch something I’ve wanted to shoot for years…only element that I forgot to enter into the equation was “Graffiti Bridge” is located smack dab in the middle of a college town and yes, the darling little Aggies were all just up the road having a raucous beer party…a shot which would normally take about 5 minutes on a tri pod was impossible…this one was one of the long ones lasting 166 seconds before a speeding moron came squealing around the corner…

So, maybe I’ll havta return when the little delinquents are not in school…

Battery Godfrey above the Golden Gate Bridge...

Completed in 1895, Battery Godfrey was armed with three 12-inch guns which could fire a 1,070 lb. shell at approaching battleships 10 miles away… In 1943, the War Department ordered the salvaging of this battery along with 12 others considered obsolete…

This is an old railroad overpass used by the CSX Transportation Company, off 17th Ave in Pensacola, Florida. The art work of this bridge changes almost daily. If you in the Pensacola area it is a place to check out.

I had connectivity issues, so I'm playing catch up today.

Black Lake Meadows Preserve

Black Lake Meadows Preserve

This looks like a natural stream, but it is called Black Lake Ditch and flows seemingly naturally from the northeast outlet of Black Lake, which can also drain from the south toward the Black River (which spills into the Chehalis River which flows out to Grays Harbor). Black Lake Ditch joins Percival Creek a bit further downstream and supports year round fish populations and a run of chum salmon in the fall.

When both outlets of Black Lake are flowing, the entire Olympic Peninsula is basically an island.

Outside the Metropolitan Flag and Banner Company factory in Kensington. Random passing junkies were offering words of encouragement and we had a small audience that enjoyed watching us set off the orange flares. An hour after we left, a dead body was found less than a mile from where we were shooting : /

Graffiti Bridge, Pensacola FL

The 17th Ave trestle, also known to #Pensacola locals as the #GraffitiBridge, is a constantly evolving landmark in the Pensacola area. Every day residents, young and old alike, come down to the Graffiti Bridge to make their mark. Every day, the bridge becomes a new canvas covered with stories being painted into place. It has been covered in anything from small tags and names to large statement pieces, such as painting the bridge gold for cancer awareness.

Bayou Texar, Penscaola, FL is a bayou in East #Pensacola, separating the East Hill and East Pensacola Heights neighborhoods. It is an estuary, fed by Carpenter’s Creek and a number of small springs, and empties into Pensacola Bay near the 17th Avenue railroad trestle and #WaysidePark.
