The Palacio de San Telmo in Seville is a splendor of baroque architecture. It is named after San Telmo, the patron saint of sailors. Construction began in 1681 and was completed 115 years later. It served as a university for seafarers until 1849, so that the naval power Spain could send more men to the American continent. Then in 1849, the Dukes of Montensier moved into the palace. In 1897, the palace was bequeathed to the Archbishopric of Seville. Since 1989, the palace has served as the seat of the Andalusian regional government.

Th Anayet peak is an extinct volcano that is on the top of the Canal Roya Valley. This beautiful valley is in danger because the Aragón goverment want to use the covid european funds to expand the sky resorts that surround it. We hope our fight against this irrational project will stop the destruction of this impressive valley.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Danish goverment has declared a number of meassures - closing all schools for 14 days, cancelling large events, sending home most public servants etc.
I am OK, but as an elderly person I am advised to take care, so I will stay at home with Lene and the cats...

Starting on Nov. 12th, 2012, nobody is allowed to climb any glaciated mountain in Ecuador without hiring an accredited mountain guide.
This restriction was issued by Ecuadorian Goverment after the last fatal accidents that happened in 2012 in Illiniza Sur and Norte.

Make sure you start before midnight so you'll be back before 10 am at the latest, for two reasons:
First, rock fall hazard. The part of the route along The Castle, a large rock wall about one hour from the Refugio Whymper, gets dangerous around that time. Lots of small and large rocks start to fall down then from this high wall due to warming temperatures.
Passing this area (El Corredor) later in the afternoon is really running between falling rocks.
Secondly, clouds will most often roll in early in the afternoon, making route finding very difficult. As there are big areas of crevasses on both sides of the normal route, losing track can be very dangerous.
***
As I said earlier, most parties climb directly from the Whymper refuge (5,000 m / 16,400 ft.). It provides bunk-beds (4 dozens), brand new mattresses, toilets, cold water, basic food supplies, stencils, gas stove, fireplace and ... cable TV (just kidding!) .
At the moment overnight costs in Whymper refuge is USD. 15.00 a night for a bed and USD. 30.00 with meals. The refuge is partially open
You can find the same facilities and costs in the Carrel refuge (4,800 m / 15,744 ft.) as well. This refuge is completely open with 52 beds. Your climb will have to start an hour earlier, though.
What else do you need? Camping is also allowed anywhere on the mountain and some parties make a high camp to cut the summit push in two days which, I think, increases your chances to make it to the summit. The most recommendable are:
El Castillo high camp, lays in the hollow of a bowl, just a few meters beyond the rock outcrop and at the left side (north) of the Southwest ridge (the normal route). Not advisable if there’s fresh snow accumulation on the first dome. This camp can get pummeled at least by the windblast of avalanches coming from above.
Moraine camp, located 10 minutes away from Whymper refuge at 5,050 m. There’s a wide flat field in this area. Make sure you set camp away from the moraines and the Thielman glacier.

It seems like even this pandemic is not over yet, many goverments around the globe started taking more relaxed quarantine measures. People will now be able to go out more often, many businesses will reopen and public transportation will start to see more commuters again. I personally feel like we are far from over with this virus but, i am not an expert by any means. Time will tell if this was a step forward or if another wave of case will sweep all the countries. As of now, it feels like urban societies are trying to figure out how to return to their normal days. It's going to be weird in the beginning but I think eventually we will be over with this. take care and stay safe!

This seems to be the oldest tree in our forest. It was recognized by goverment and now it is officially protected by law. We might be looking on one of the oldest being on this planet. Makes you feel so young!
... whoever speaks it
What a wise sentence!
Never heart such clever words of our goverment for a long time.
I am boring last time. So I have to change things and thinking. More urban life, geometry... . Be curious about that what is around us
My urgent call to the US Goverment, speaking as a western european civilian: Please secure the whole Nato Territory in Europe, while you can, Joe, before we are occupied! Because we are next on Putin's list, and we can't push him back alone! We are counting on you. Thank you in advance.

The construction work in the foreground is of the European China Centre Rotterdam [Rotterdam Katendrecht used to have Europe's very first China Town]. Construction started in 2010, but came to a standstill a year later because of the withdrawal of a Belgian investor and the lack of goverment decision-making concerning residence permits for Chinese investors.

Sahara Español, now Western Sahara, was a Spain's province and local people had their Spanish nationality.
Only a few nomad tribes were around that territory when spaniards arrived, no cities or permanent settlements at all, and treaties were signed with them.
Both El Aaiún and Villa Cisneros were founded and built by spanish people that had been fishing in the area for more than 400 years.
Never this area was Morocco, but now it dominates the territory and has moved Moroccans citizens from its country to settle there in order to argue the Moroccan nature of the area but real Sahrawi people had to escape to Tindouf refugee camps, in Algeria, due to persecution by the Moroccan authorities.
It was a tragedy because Spain was in the process to give independence to the territory, with the help and surveillance of the United Nations, when Morocco decided to invade it. That happened in 1975 with a weak Spain because Franco was dying and in its process of implement democrazy and probably forced by USA to leave Sahara for the benefit of Morocco, that was his ally.
In 1991, Morocco and Frente Polisario signed a ceasefire agreement before the UN in order to prepare for the celebration of self-determination in which the Sahrawi population could decide their future. However, hostilities resumed in November 2020, after Morocco repeatedly obstructed the holding of the consultation.
Subsequently, Morocco, with the help of the United States, built a wall from north to south, leaving the majority part of the country in the east, occupied by Morocco, and a small area in the west, which forms the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic and is controlled by the Polisario Front.
Now, with the support of USA and the recent coward agreement of the current Spain's goverment and some others european ones, Morocco is trying to annex the country.
Probably my rarest A340-200 catched so far!
It's useless to say that it was a nervous day..it wasn't sunny all the afternoon and suddenly, that 4-hair dryer (most known as A340-8000) came alive on the frequency and rolled during the only moment where the sun showed up for almost 30s 😍!
