Gotherington West Ground Frame
Gothering Station was opened by the Great Western Railway in 1906. The station opened as Gotherington on 1 June 1906; it was renamed Gotherington Halt on 1 December 1940, and was closed on 13 June 1955. It was the first station to close on this route (most of the other stations closed in 1960). The line itself remained open until 1976. The track was later lifted by 1979.
The line was relaid by the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, during the mid-1990s reaching Gotherington in 1997. Trains recommenced the same year, and were extended to Cheltenham Racecourse in April 2003.
The station buildings are privately owned, so trains use the opposite platform. During major events the private garden is opened to passengers and the station house becomes a tea room. A short length of track in the garden allows rides on a Wickham or pump trolley.
If you are pretty much sleepy through the day and awake through the night, it means one of two things 1. You could be batman 2. You can be a good candidate to capture night skies.

1. Ate a full meal comprising koka noodles and dumplings, taking about an hour
2. Chat with the local Bhutanese boys about their favorite football team, sports and click a billion selfies

The cemetery in Navgaon has a memorial for the Bene Israel that died in the shipwreck.
Tradition recounts that during the voyage from the Kingdom of Israel, the forefathers of the Bene Israel were shipwrecked and washed ashore the Konkan coast, south of Bombay. The survivors – seven men and seven women – buried their dead in a site near the village Nawgaon, which later became the Bene Israel cemetery

Dada, amba ghe re!
After almost a decade or more, I was fortunate enough to visit my native place and visit some of my cousins for the first time in the coastal paradise that is Vengurla. When you meet someone after so long, its almost like meeting a new person, maybe with the same memories. Some of my friends now had children, a few familiar faces moved to the city, some, no news..some feeling that is. And needless to say, what followed over the next few days was a mango eating binge! To a point where me and @soniavinayak would pick up mangoes wherever they would be fallen. Sometimes on someone else's plantation too. (Im sure you can relate. Lol)
This picture is of my cute lil cousin who walked around the plantation, found these 2 gigantic mangoes and got them to me, while mom laughs in the background at my obsession for this fruit! I miss this place and the people!

I followed the lead of my friend who eats at Taqueria Guadalajara every time he is in Madison and ordered 2 pork carnitas tacos and a potato gordita. Extra cilantro. Mmmm...I don't think I've ever had a gordita before. It was delish but very filling and I could only finish one taco.

Spotting a Malabar Giant Squirrel eating in what is known as its signature eating style. Maybe one of the few good things to happen on my birthday road trip, before all our equipment begun malfunctioning or crashed.
This picture is a dream come true, 3 years in the waiting, especially now when i dont get to shoot wildlife as much. These are the amazing forests of Dharwad, teeming with wildlife even in this dry season.
Karnataka always has kickass things to offer, and I promise to be back, with working equipment ofcourse!

Pune's answer to Arizona's horseshoe bend!
It had been so long since I actually headed out to photograph landscapes. Pune boasts some amazing short getaways within the 100km mark so what seemed a 2 hour trip turned into a full day excursion.
The raingods made sure there was plenty of downpour, and this was probably the only good picture we could manage, and spent the day driving through some picture perfect twisties, vada pav stops and conversation with @soniavinayak. A sunday well spent!

With a vast majority of the handful that visit this quaint paradise, it might be an unexpected surprise if you find this beach and find nobody around!

took a little road trip to Bisbee Arizona & stayed at the Historic Copper Queen Hotel
The hotel is haunted & is a great place to stay while in this beautiful little copper mining town... Tons of character & history...

The last of the three major buildings on the piazza to be built, construction of the bell tower began in 1173 and took place in three stages over the course of 177 years, with the bell-chamber only added in 1372. Five years after construction began, when the building had reached the third floor level, the weak subsoil and poor foundation led to the building sinking on its south side. The building was left for a century, which allowed the subsoil to stabilise itself and prevented the building from collapsing. In 1272, to adjust the lean of the building, when construction resumed, the upper floors were built with one side taller than the other. The seventh and final floor was added in 1319. By the time the building was completed, the lean was approximately 1 degree.
