Before & After Construction
Yesterday I saw this modified VW Beetle at a strip mall plaza. I thought it was cute and I couldn't resist to take some photos of it both from the front and from the back. I think this would be a perfect commute vehicle for Amsterdam. I saw quite a few one-person vehicles driven on the bike lanes over there.
This year the local ABC7 was broadcasting the CNY parade Live. We saw these lions congregated together when the dragon approached. Even though I had my Nikon Zf and a 135mm tele with me, I did bother to take it out as I viewing this behind a glass window. I 'd rather use my phone because I could press my phone 's camera against the glass to minimize the reflections. The only things I gave up were the details as I realized there is just too much AI processing to the photos. All in all, there is a give and take to this.
While at St Peter's Square at night a couple years ago, I took this shot of The "Angels Unaware" boat by Canadian artist Timothy P. Schmalz with the full moon abovre. This 20-foot sculpture depicts 140 migrants ranging from a Jewish man escaping Nazi Germany to a Syrian refugee fleeing the civil war. It was unveiled during mass on the 105th World Day of Migrants and Refugees on Sunday.
Boarded this passenger train car at the Railroad Museum of Carson City. and all the sudden, I felt old. myself. I sit on one of these chairs and pondered. I still a few more years before I am called a senior. Hopefully I will be done with tech soon. Just getting too tired of the morning calls and commute.
Found this little guy at Alien Fresh Jerky in Baker. I wonder if those greys would complain about us humans who have been stealing their identities for commercial profits. Time will tell.
The Weltmuseum had a collection of armor suits in exhibition when we went there two weeks ago. I did not know that the armored helmet can be this comical. I just had a little laugh at a few of these samples.

When I commuted back home in the early evening yesterday, I saw this immaculate quarter rainbow right above Ruby Hill. It was quite a scene to behold as I was coming down from Sunol Grade. I immediately took out my phone and snapped a few photos of it.
We were at Las Vegas Sphere yesterday watching "Wizard of Oz" in 18K resolution. I spotted a group of moviegoers in front of us all decked out with the costumes of the movie characters. I then captured this scene when they all stood up to let a latecomer audience pass in front of them. It just happened that Judy Garland appeared at the center of the movie screen.
The Sunnyside Train Yard, Queens, NYC is comprised of 180 acres (72.8 hectares), which is 6x the footprint of Hudson Yards, 2x the size of Battery Park City, and 30 acres larger than Roosevelt Island. As with the other yards (Atlantic & Hudson), Sunnyside is also slated to have a platform constructed above it, so as to further erect buildings and roads atop that. For several years now major realtors have been building properties around the perimeter of the Sunnyside Yard. They're all like vultures, waiting on the kill.

A few months back I wrote and sent a letter to His Honor Zohran Mamdani, the current Mayor of NYC, outlining how the City could generate revenue:
1. Any motorized open-aired vehicle requires a license, registration and safety helmet, i.e. motorized scooters and motorized bicycles. Motorcycles required them. Why not these? Many times I see two on a scooter, with the adult wearing a helmet, and the child not. Crazy.
2. Ticket any vehicle which displays a florescent vest on its dashboard, draped through it's car door, or mounts a traffic cone on its hood. There's no free parking. Enough with this silliness.
Never received an answer. Wasn't expecting one. Onwards...

About the Queens Boulevard Viaduct
Completed in 1917, the Queens Blvd viaduct runs for an eighth of a mile along the center of Queens Boulevard between 32nd Pl. and 47th Street. I took a side trip yesterday just to see this apartment condo as recommended by one of the travel Youtubers. We were stunned by its incredible architecture. It even has a boat launching dock at its center courtyard as can be seen on one of the photos in my collage. I had to create a collage just to cover the different points of view.
Saw this Raccoon near Stow Lake at the Golden Gate Park. She was not skittish at all. So I took my time and captured this portrait of her.
We walked past this tandem bike on our way to Anne Frank House today. I thought it could have been Batman's primary transportation in Amsterdam as the streets are narrow. His sidekick, Robin, would have been riding on the back in tandem. Anyway,
Saw this VW Eurovan park in front of the IKEA store last weekend. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to capture a photo of it with my phone . The vehicle showed some signs of rust. Hopefully, it still runs good.

Construction is about to go vertical at 24-19 Jackson Avenue, a 55-story residential skyscraper in the Court Square section of Long Island City, Queens. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Charney Companies and Tavros Capital in partnership with Incoco Capital, the 676-foot-tall structure will yield 600 apartments and 10,000 square feet of retail space. The 18,000-square-foot property is bounded by 45th Avenue to the north, Jackson Avenue to the southeast, and 23rd Street to the west.

Here's an interesting tidbit of information not many people know about:
The Hell Gate Bridge in New York City, completed in 1917, is known for its steel arch design and was the longest steel arch bridge in the world at the time. The Sydney Harbour Bridge, in Sydney Australia, inspired by the Hell Gate Bridge, was completed in 1932 and is notable for being the widest long-span bridge globally, showcasing a similar arch design

Spotted this sundog phenomenon in the sky the other day while I was at a traffic stop in North San Jose. I quickly took out my phone and snapped this photo through the wind shield.
Spotted this unusual high clearance Chevy while commuting to the office the other day. I couldn't help but take this snapshot from the dashboard.
I was in Phoenix just a few weeks ago and saw this lone Canada goose by the lake outside of our hotel. The morning light made this a lovely scene for me to photograph.
While we were strolling around in the Mission District, we came across this Victorian house with bright blue colors and intricate crown mouldings. It was very eye-catching. Without hesitation, I took this ultra wide angle shot with my phone. I typically don't carry any ultrawide angle lens for my camera these days whenever I walk about the city. The ultrawide on my phone is good enough.
