After a shaky start(we had an inch of snow on the ground April 16th),summer arrived early and the crops have gotten off to a great start. Knee high by the 4th of July has become knee high by the 4th of June in some areas. Prices have rebounded somewhat, so there is some "tempered" optimism out there. The main cloud is the possibility of foreign tariffs in response to our Presidents steel tariffs. With that being resolved and continued good weather, could 2018 be a return to farm profitability? I'll let you know in November.....

Brekkie for mine workers or similar.

Good stuff.

Sunday morning... should be quiet but, not with kids. Florence dressed herself like that and requested a picture. I will never resist this. But now, back to the daily weekend action.

Have a good one everybody!

BUONGIORNO AMORE MIO

I guess there could be worse ways to go.

I HAVE DISCOVERED THIS GREAT THING. Has anyone else ever seen this?

The colors look a bit off from what they really were, but I get the same feeling looking at the picture I had looking at the sky.

Happy new year!

A bucket in the rain when it doesn't wanna fall

And everything that matters, matters not at all

The quiet is too loud- I, feel weak, but I'm tough

I don't think that I'll ever feel like enough...

It started out like a good night until the rain decided to fall from the sky...

I love love love the start of this year already!

Yes my room is a disaster and I should get on that, but everything else is perfect. I know it's only the 2nd day, but I already feel like it's going to be a good one!

Today has been awfully lazy for me, I had my saturday pilates class, then just watched "He's Just not that into You" with the family, finally showered and now nothing. But thats okay... and I'm trying not to think about going back to school on Monday, I'm really not ready not the break to be over!

I hope this year is going to be as good as I think... I think my corny smile says I am happy.

THE FRENCHMAN: A Photographic Interview by PHILIPPE HALSMANDate: 1948Printed in: U.S.A

Publisher: Simon & Schuster, PublishersLanguage: English Number of Pages: 52Size: 168 mm x 229 mm (6” 9/16 x 9”) Front Cover: FernandelContents: “FERNANDEL or HOW IT HAPPENED”, by Philippe Halsman, 2 Pages. “Fernandel”, 48 Pages, 24 B&W Photos; etc.Condition: Very GoodStarting Price: US$ 24.99

"NOTE TO PHOTOGRAPHERS: For his portraits, Mr. Halsman uses a twin lens reflex camera, which he designed himself, and for general outdoor work a Rolleiflex"

Philipe Halsman came to the United States in 1940, a refugee from France. He was a well known photographer in Europe but he had to start from scratch in this country.

In two years of hard struggle he made a name for himself as one of America's leading photographers and found himself busy night and day with people who heard of his reputation and wished to be photographed. More of Mr. Halsman's pictures have appeared on the cover of Life magazine than those of any other photographer.

Although a superb technician, he has about him an air of an amateur and experimentalist. He is forever trying new things. Thus, when he met Fernandel, the subject of this book, he asked him to come to his studio so he could make him a subject of an interview – the questions to be asked in words and the answers to come in the form of facial expressions.
