Clowns Without Borders is by essence a non-typical NGOs. Whereas other organizations help poverty-stricken populations with food, shelter, donations, CWB supplies a no-less fundamental - yet scarce - resource : laughter. Sending professional performers, actors, dancers in refugee camps across the world, this organization tries to heal the wounds of war through comedy, allowing children and parents alike to forget - if only for a a few days - the ordeals they have just been through. CWB brings together an amazing array of artists and social workers, and it has been an honor to volunteer as a photographer for their "Sudan trip" volunteer party. The walk of life started at 7pm. The storm started to roll in around 9pm. They warned us the get off the track and take cover in the gym. There were people who stayed on the track. I think they finally had to make them come inside. We had to cancel it and set another day. Our team was at the end of the field and the last to turn black. I took this picture right after they told us to tie everything down. The storm moved in very fast.
It's opening day for the Stand For Palestine event, and I'm grateful to be participating in a few ways. Firstly, I've textured this scarf to be a Palestinian-style keffiyeh, and it's currently being sold at the event. Outside of that, I am also offering 2 each of 3 services which are being auctioned off: sim/parcel/set design, avatar styling, and photography.

100% of the proceeds from this event are going to UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency) which provides education, healthcare, food, and emergency relief to Palestinian refugees across the Middle East.
So come join us! Dance to some fun tunes, buy some of the cool creations by many top tier brands, bid on some of the great services being offered, and feel confident in knowing it's all to support an excellent cause.

Not totally mad because she was all dressed up for a good cause - to raise the issue of cancer awareness
Photo 3 for Stories Worth Telling.
Foster children are often labeled as “damaged goods.” This stereotype could not be further from the truth. You have the opportunity to help children break the cycle and shatter the stereotypes; lifting these weights that can bury children and leave them feeling hopeless.

Every Year a group of Friends in Curitiba get together and throw a party in order to raise money to help Institutions that take care of Children in Need.
This year I was invited to help, take their photo for the party invite. We clicked on a Monday afternoon. I had some ideas but when I got there I learned we had to be quick, some of them would have to leave soon. This one and 2 more down there are the photos I liked. I had promised 1 photo, delivered 3.
I was pretty busy at the time I got the invitation but felt honored for being chosen (by the majority) to be part of this good cause. :~)
Valeu! :~)

this is a slightly older design I was asked to do by the good folks over at darfur australia network. this ended up not being used but I'm personally satisfied with it and decided to add it to my flickr collection. who knows, I might get it printed myself since it's for a good cause.
Decided which charity to run for in London next year. Joe was on hand to make the first donation. Haven't got the heart to tell him I'm not sure Lego money is legal currency!!

Four lovely ladies in nice costumes who agreed for a posed group shot in the centre of Thornbury, They were raising money for charity through a raffle. Draw a number ending in 0 or 5 to win a prize. I failed on that one but was happy to get a lovely picture.
Another edit of a shot taken back in 2016. One of a series of big cat images I've been working on recently. Removing the background and enclosure bars on this one was tricky and I'm not that happy with the result, but thought I'd share and see what y'alls think.
"Y'all, this is my precious, darlin', cute-as-pie
friend, Kellie, ringin' the Salvation Army
bell in front of Big Lots in Clinton. REO had
gone into Big Lots to get my Christmas pre-
sent (he knows I'm easy to please...teehee)
and I was next door gettin' his at the Gate-
way Rescue Mission Thrift Store (books
were 5 cents each that day....honest truth!")
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"After we ran into Kellie we proceeded to
Walmart and there was another friend
playin' Christmas Carols on her portable
keyboard all decked out in a santa hat &
Salvation Army apron. AND....REO has
been volunteering his time and ringing
the bell at Kroger! As you can see we
down here in the Deep South truly be~
lieve in the good work of the Salvation
Army!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"So....what I'm trying to say is, if you hear
those bells ringin' next week while you're
out shoppin', don't forget to drop a little
something in the bucket.....awww....I know
you will!" smile
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Merry Christmas and God Bless You!"
