Goniobranchus kuniei is a species of very colourful sea slug, a dorid nudibranch, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Chromodorididae. Goniobranchus kuniei has a pattern of dark spots with pale blue haloes on a creamy mantle. There is a double border to the mantle of purple and blue. The length of the body reaches 40 mm. The species Goniobranchus tritos and Goniobranchus geminus have similar colour patterns. (Wikipedia). Mabini, South Luzon, Philippines.

Give me a hug...

Hypselodoris tryoni has a brown body and white foot. The body and upper dorsum are covered in purple spots ringed with white or light-brown. The gills are typically translucent white or light-brown and the rhinophores are brown to dark-brown and covered in circular white lines. It has a thin blue or purple line on the mantle edge. There is some colour variation between individuals. Hypselodoris tryoni is similar in appearance to Goniobranchus geminus, Goniobranchus kuniei and Goniobranchus leopardus, although it lacks the wide purple mantle edge line present in those species. Goniobranchus species also tend to have a lower, more rounded body. Sea slugs such as Hypselodoris tryoni, are known to exhibit trailing behaviour where up to four animals will follow one another very closely, often touching. It is not known what causes this behaviour.

Hypselodoris tryoni reaches at least 60 mm in length and has been observed to raise and lower its head while crawling. (Wikipedia)

Goniobranchus preciosus has a white mantle with three lines of colour at the edge. The mantle rim is marked by a thin white line, with a dark red band inside this and then a yellow band. The rhinophore clubs are brown with white edges to the lamellae and the gill leaves are also brown with white markings. The body length varies between 15 mm and 30 mm. This species is very similar to Goniobranchus verrieri and most easily distinguished by the white margin to the mantle. Goniobranchus trimarginatus is also similar, but has white gills and rhinophores and red speckles in the middle of the back.(Wikipedia) Anilao, South Luzon, Philippines

Hello! Here I am...

Goniobranchus coi is a species of very colourful sea slug, a dorid nudibranch, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Chromodorididae. It occurs in the tropical Western Pacific Ocean from Australia to the Philippines and rarely as far East as the Marshall Islands. Goniobranchus coi has a white body and foot, but is instantly recognizable by its distinct dorsal pattern. The outer part of the mantle is yellow, separated from the inner light-brown part by a wavy white and black line. The outer edge of the mantle is brown, with a thin purple line at the margin. The gills and rhinophores range in colour between different individuals from translucent white, through pale-yellow and light-brown. This species reaches at least 50 mm in length. Goniobranchus leopardus can reach a maximum size of 6 cm length. The body is elongate with a foot which is distinct from the upper body by a large skirt like mantle hiding the foot. The top of the mantle is brownish with dark spots circled with white. The margin of the mantle is white with at the external border a fine purple to electric blue line. The rhinophores are lamellate and contractile, the base is white topped with blue to purple but they can also be white with a longitudinal blue to purple line. The branched gills have a whitish external side, the internal surface is golden. The H. tryoni resembles a lot, but the rhinophores are of a lighter colour and the dots are smaller without white centers. Lembeh Strait, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Its dark markings and yellow rhinophores stand out sharply against the muted background.

No rush, no display — just a quiet moment of marine life, observed as it is.

Simple, precise, and perfectly adapted to its world.
