Tisleidalen church is a church constructed in a rectangular shape, from 1957 in Tisleidalen in Nord-Aurdal municipality, Innlandet county.

The building is made of wood and has 130 places.

At Tisleidalen on Golsfjellet there was a burial ground before a church was built. The cemetery here has been in use since 1949, after the plot was given as a gift in 1943. Permission was then given to build a chapel at this "auxiliary cemetery". The chapel was designed by Karl Stenersen, built in 1957 and consecrated in 1958. The building is today called a church.

Church building

The church has a rectangular nave and a narrower, straight-ended chancel. There is a sacristy on the north side of the choir and a baptismal waiting room (baptismal sacristy) on the south side. As a tower, a roof rider acts near the western end of the ship, and there are porches to the west. The number of seats is 130. The orientation is approximately from west-southwest to east-northeast.

Biking around Tisleifjorden. Part IV

At this time we have come to the end of Tisleifjorden on our biking trip around this lake. We have left the gravel road and entered a smaller track while we cross from Golsfjellet over to Valdres and the other side of the lake.

On our way we have stopped by this little pond that looked very inviting in the fair weather. As you can see we also spot some other bikers between the trees that had the same idea to have a little break along the route.

The tracks both for hikers and bikers are well marked in every place there is a road cross along this road. As showed at my Photo and Travel blog:

Scaling is difficult. The small StaveChurch here is like a doll house as it can anly have some 15 visitors to be filled up.

The small copy of the StaveChurch was build to a nearby hotel owners daughter - just4fun some years ago.

Today from time to time also used for small weddings.

Biking around Tisleifjorden. Part II

Just some minutes after our start of the tour around Tisleifjorden, from the Oset mountain hotel we pass this little Stave Church. It is a fine modern work - based on the 1000 years old craftmansship used to build the original Stave Churches.

This tiny version of the Stave Church can accomondate some 17 people - very popular for small weddings etc. It was original a gift from the Hotel manager to his daughter some years back.

A contrasty winter afternoon with glittering icy bushes on Golsfjellet, Norway, 2016.

No time for new photographs, too busy cleaning the 1.5 m of snow from my driveway and... roof! It's getting too heavy for my house to carry ;-) They say that there has not been so much snow here since 1994. Good fun! :-D
