Today's story and sketch "by me" we are at the Playa Beautimus Retirement
Resort RV of Zinca Gofish, who is away on vacation to her home planet
"Lippo the Blue Moon" visiting her grand kids.
Above you see JB who is responding to a call about the second missing mailman in two weeks. When he sees the small DNA puddle, next to the
mail satchel, he will carefully get behind the Laser Security Tiki you see
to the right in this sketch, and disarm it before he collects the satchel of undelivered penny savers and a goo sample for DNA testing.
If Zinca had been home today she would have received the recall notice
on her Security Tiki model 480. And warning not to under any circumstance turn on the 480 Laser Security Tiki.

Today's story and sketch "by me" we are in Las Vegas for
the "PBR" Professional Bull Riders association World Final.
This years final is not starting well for Bobby "Buck'n Bronco" Gofish the number two Bull Rider on the rodeo circuit, as you see Bobby in this sketch driving his 1951 Ford pick up at the back entrance to the Thomas and Mack Arena, just as he spots a Rodeo Voodoo Doll with his likeness stuck with very large pins. By the time his girl friend Sheila (a buxom beauty
from Chino), noticed it was to late to warn Bobby to look
the other way, he saw it at the same time and is now paralyzed
on his right side. Instantly Sheila knew it was the work of
her old boyfriend and number one bull rider Big Billy Johnson.
Rodeo Voodoo Dolls are the work of Big Billy's Mom "Mojo Marge" Johnson, high priestess of Voodoo Dolls, nasty spells,
and par time professional Rodeo Clown from Westwood.

Laxa Myvatn - Laxa in Adaldal
River Laxa Myvatn the discharge of lake Myvatn is without a doubt among the best brown trout rivers in the world as well as being an enchanting river to fish. The lush vegetation and the rich birdlife along the river is a joy to watch. River Laxa is the most fertile stream in Iceland. Black fly larvae sift substances from the water and constitute the river’s most important food.
The brown trout are of all sizes but the main attraction besides the stunning nature is the sizable average weight. The most common size of fish is two up to five pounds but six up to eight pound “brownies” are not uncommon at all. Several larger brown trout are also caught every season.
The two uppermost and the very best beats are called Myvatnssveit and Laxardalur. The Myvatnssveit beat is situated where river Laxa flows from lake Myvatn in three channels. It alternately cascades or flows in still pools among beautiful islets grown with wood cranesbills, angelica, buttercups and willow.
Laxardalur valley is the lower beat above the river Laxa hydro electric power station. When running through the valley the river has mainly gathered its strength and flows like a tide, broad and powerful.
The two beats have separate full service lodges to offer.
The fishing areas known as Presthvammur, Hraun, Stadatorfa and Mulatorfa on Laxa Myvatn or Laxa in Adaldalur as named below the power station are also among the best brown trout fishing areas available.
Below the power station the valley widens vastly but as at the upper Laxa the lush vegetation and rich birdlife stays with the angler.
The optional comfortable lodges available for the lower Laxa anglers have self catering facilities to offer. Hotels offering full board services, B&B or camping grounds are also available in the nearby area.
Streamer flies seem to be the early summer most productive, but later on weighed nymphs fished upstream with strike indicators take center stage as well as fishing with dry flies.
Lake Myvatn and its outflow, the river Laxa, comprise an extraordinarily unique wetland system in the volcanically active zone of Iceland. Read more
The lake is a RAMSAR site (an international designation for wetlands of importance).
River Laxa is located up north. Approx 450km from Reykjavík.
TRAVEL:
By air: Reykjavik - Akureyri, approx 50 minutes, followed by one hour scenic drive to the lodge.
Driving: Main road. Reykjavik - Laxa, approx 6 hours.
Today's story and sketch "by me" I have traveled through the Stargate located in the back of the man cave to Indiana, (you may recognize me piloting an experimental "FSU" flying stuff university chopper, I borrowed it from JB's chopper collection, it was just certified safe by Rescue Randy the most interesting crash test dummy in the Galaxy. For many months I have been asked to make a trip to Indiana to sketch the famous Zooelda's Moon Pie Shop, on route 66 in Broken Drum. Zooelda's has been making moon pies for hundreds of years. Zooelda's was the most popular galactic tourist, or hitch hiker destination in this part of the Galaxy, until the young alien Knobby Gofish transformed thousands of acres of Gator filled Florida swamp into Wonder World, the happiest place in the galaxy for humanity, from this or any other Dimension. In the center of this sketch you see a group of living tissue Voodoo tourists from the planet Voodoom, they are just in time for the high noon moon pie bakery tour, that tour will have to be a story for another time, until then you only have today's sketch, taa ta the Rod Blog.

Today's story and sketch "by me" we are back at Paint Ball Island, formerly known as San Clemente Island, before
it was converted to a Maximum Security Prison Island, and Paint Ball Theme Park.
You may remember our last visit when you saw Warden Tombo Gofish, the owner of the park.
You see him again today piloting the "LMG" Lippo Moon Glider, anion sport plane, on an island reconnaissance flight.
Tombo loves to fly, and wants to include plane rentals to the high roller Paint Ball teams on special weekends.
So it seems a lot is about to change from our last visit, like the harmless looking gazillion volt fence in the
premium E-Ticket Park area, being checked by Patrolman Durk Gofish, Tombo's brother in law.
The E-Ticket Park is just about the most exciting thing ever be tried at a combination Prison/Resort.
The E-Tickets will be available in specially marked Expedition Moon Pies, with a mail in raffle ticket, the winners
will be picked at random. And some "Expensive"tickets for politicians with no limit expense accounts.
The E designation park is also for the enjoyment of the Incarcerated guests, who will get much more exercise, by
scrambling when the "PBBP" paint ball bi planes begin flying overhead. One hundred planes are currently being built
on Lippo by B&R Amusement Gliders, they will be single, double, and some multi seat Anti Gravity old style
BI Planes, with a top speed of only 20 mph, the inmates will have a sporting chance to outrun the Planes,
when they hear the paint baller's take off at dawn. Some of the planes are due to arrive within a week, and many
of the inmates are digging there caves a bit farther into the hills before they arrive.

Today's story and sketch "by me" we are back at "FSU" here in the
rolling hills of Anaheim, and what a beautiful location between the San Gabriel Mountains and the
Pacific Ocean, to have the Galaxies Flying Stuff University "FSU" the hands on experience
school, who's motto is if you can put a seat in it, or on it, we can make it fly.
Of course that is with the help of the flyscience department, using the latest in B&R
Anti Gravity (Radon element Rn #86) natural radioactive, colorless, odorless, tasteless noble gas
But that is enough about science because in today's sketch what a remarkable scene to see
both of the brothers responsible for "FSU" Mardick and Laurence "Limpy" Gofish, Mardick flying
above in the newest Quicksilver three B&R powered machine made of Bindle Sticks and paper mache,
and brother Limpy in a genuine Plymouth Belvedere from his own American Muscle Car Collection,
which will be a story for another time, till then taa ta the Rod Blog.

SCOUT: “Paddy? Paddy!”
PADDY: “Yes Scout?”
SCOUT: “Paddy, do you have any twos?” *Giggles.*
PADDY: “Hhhmmm…” *Looks at cards in his paw.* “No, Scout! Go fish!” *Giggles.*
SCOUT: *Takes a card off the top of the deck.* “I like this game Paddy! It’s fun!”
PADDY: “Yes it is, Scout! It’s fun playing cards with you.”
SCOUT: “Oh, I like playing cards with you Paddy! When this game is finished, can we play it again?”
PADDY: “Of course we can Scout! We can play this game again, and again and again all afternoon,” *Looks out the window.* “It is grey and wet outside, so there is no playing in the garden today!”
SCOUT: “Oh goodie Paddy!” *Trembles with excitement.*
PADDY: “Now Scout, do you have any…”
This year the FFF+ Group have decided to have a weekly challenge called “Snap Happy”. A different theme chosen by a member of the group each week, and the image is to be posted on the Monday of the week.
This week the theme, “games” was chosen by David, DaveSPN.
Paddy recently taught Scout how to play Go Fish! and now Scout cannot get enough of playing it on cold and dreary winter days.
This beautiful nursery tea set is made by the Shell China company in the 1910s. It features six cups, saucers (not all the set is being used today) as well as a teapot, milk jug and sugar bowl, all gilt and featuring different nursery rhymes including: "See Saw Margery Daw", "Jack and Jill", "This Little Pig Went to Market", "Taffy ws a Welshman", "Ride a Cock Horse to Banbury Cross", "Little Jack Horner", “Pat-A-Cake, Pat-A-Cake”, "Old Mother Goose" and "I Saw a Ship a Sailing" amongst others. It is the prequel set to the Shell China nursery and faerie tale tea sets I have from the 1920s and 1930s. The designs are very Edwardian and the set is made up of smaller pieces. There are also doll (bear) sized tea spoons which are sterling silver salt spoons, and the spoon in the “Old Mother Goose” sugar bowl is an Eighteenth Century sterling silver mustard spoon.
My Paddington Bear came to live with me in London when I was two years old (many, many years ago). He was hand made by my Great Aunt and he has a chocolate coloured felt hat, the brim of which had to be pinned up by a safety pin to stop it getting in his eyes. The collar of his mackintosh is made of the same felt. He wears wellington boots made from the same red leather used to make the toggles on his mackintosh.
He has travelled with me across the world and he and I have had many adventures together over the years. He is a very precious member of my small family.
Scout was a gift to Paddy from my friend. He is a Fair Trade Bear hand knitted in Africa. His name comes from the shop my friend found him in: Scout House. He tells me that life was very different where he came from, and Paddy is helping introduce him to many new experiences. Scout catches on quickly, and has proven to be a cheeky, but very lovable member of our closely knit family.
Some of my Lego minifigures are playing Go Fish for Card Playing Day.

Today's story and sketch "by me" you see JB in the "CFCC"
Circle Fly Control Chopper, just as he is letting go a big blast of Circle Fly
spray over Gilon Gofish, who just happened to be out picking Prickly Gonad Cactus Pears during the fall circle fly infestation near the Playa Beautimus Retirement resort. Circle fly's arrive just when the prickly pears ripen.
Gilon was picking without a protective circle fly costume, which is very
similar to a beekeeper costume but better looking and much stronger.
Gilon will have learned a very itchy lesson. He will surly remember it
when he stops itching in a few weeks.
That lesson is to leave picking Prickly Gonad Cactus Pears to the
professionals, who pick and make Prickly Gonad Cactus Pear Moon Pies
for a living, or those very experienced hobbyists who are concerned about looking stylish and are not to cheap to purchase a proper Rescue Randy
(living tissue crash test dummy) field tested circle fly protective costume.
Which are on sale now just in time for the prickly gonad
cactus pear season at the Playa Beautimus Resort fashion
and functional clothing outlet center, until next time

Today's story and sketch "by me" we are on the Island of Tabago.
Tabago was discovered in 1498 by Christopher Columbus while he was traveling
around the Caribbean looking for Palm Trees for carving Tiki's, and coconuts to make moon pies for his hungry crew. Chris's little known hobby until today was wood carving, he loved carving tikis's in his cabin on those long journeys at sea. Like the Tiki's you see carved by Chris in 1498
here on Tabago. These are a must see for tourists who travel to Tabago,
like the young Alien boy Badaboo Gofish from Lippo the Blue Moon, who
himself is a Tiki Carver and has traveled Earth studying Chris Columbus's
fine Carvings and the stories from his captains log of the locations and
girlfriends in every port who's faces inspired his work.
