I was in the mood for a little adventure, so I decided to take my bike out for some nighttime driving. I had been at work all day and wanted to relax a bit before going back home. So as I rode on down this dark street, my thoughts wandered from what's happening in the world.

Taken in a simulated rain tank. I must revisit this location. The fun was the challenge of the lighting.
A view of the simulated rain tank.

I think the lights in the background as well as the light on the model help set the mood of this shot.
Donut Falls in Big Cottonwood Canyon.
I took a pair of LED lights this time to illuminate the cavern and compensate for the sunlight that enters the cave.
Sunlight filtered through the trees unevenly, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. By chance, the sun illuminated the model’s face at the perfect moment for this shot. I used flash to light the model, while the dappled natural light through the trees created a beautiful gobo effect.

Slecht geslapen vannacht.
This shot was directed by a bark from her puppy that was present at the shoot. Good call Mr. Bentley.

Low key lighting with mirrors is something I should have tried before.

Probably my favorite photo I ever took of spider behavior.
This is such an incredibly strange and interesting scene. It appears that the female has caught the moth, and the male took his chance to approach the female while she was distracted.
I have never seen or photographed something like this, and i am really stoked the stack worked out. I took almost 1000 frames of this scene just to hopefully get a single stack that works.
Had to take this at a lower magnification and then crop a little, would have really helped if I had a higher megapixel body, @omsystem.cameras 30mp OM1 III when?

I posted plenty of portraits of this species already, but I never really bothered to take good dorsal photos and I wonder why.
A couple days ago I found this absolutely beautiful juvenile female, when I spotted her with my headlamp she almost looked like a ghost, appeared completely white. Now in this image you can see her beautiful green coloration come through her dense white setae.
Absolutely beautiful spiders, I really need to continue taking dorsal photos more often.

This was shot on film - Portra 400 Film. We were replicating some editorial shots inspired by Zoe Kravitz and orther notable models. The scans are done on a Noritsu Koki with EZ Controller software. A much noticeable sharper image than from more affordable home scanners.
