The godly women in the Bible are amazing. Just few weeks ago I was thinking about Hanna, the prophet Samuel’s mother. The Bible says in 1 Samuel 1:10-11, "In bitterness of soul Hannah wept much and prayed to the LORD. And she made a vow, saying, ‘O LORD Almighty, if you will only look upon your servant's misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.’" This was not an easy prayer for any woman to make...giving up her only child. But God heard her prayer and honoured her sacrifice. The Bible says in 1 Samuel 1:19-20, "...the LORD remembered her. So in the course of time Hannah conceived and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying, ‘Because I asked the LORD for him.’" And we all know what a great man of God the prophet Samuel grew up to be.

If you have a longing of your heart that you feel it is past due and you are ready to give up remember that the Lord remembered Hanna’s prayer in in the course of time.

Another godly woman from the Bible that amazes me is Mary Magdalene. At the arrest of Lord Jesus Christ the Bible says in Mark 14:50, “Then everyone deserted him and fled.” Three days later while the disciples locked themselves in together for fear of persecution, Mary Magdalene and few other women went to the tomb to anoint the body of the Lord. When Mary found the tomb empty she run to the disciples and told them. The apostle Peter and another disciple went back to the tomb and found it empty as Mary has told them. Then comes one of my favourite parts in the Bible, John 20:10-18:

Then the disciples went back to their homes, but Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus' body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.

They asked her, "Woman, why are you crying?"

"They have taken my Lord away," she said, "and I don't know where they have put him." At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.

"Woman," he said, "why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?"

Thinking he was the gardener, she said, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him."

Jesus said to her, "Mary."

She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, "Rabboni!" (which means Teacher).

Mary Magdalene wasn’t crying because Jesus had died and her dreams of a ruler who will liberate the Jews from the Roman empire were dashed. She didn’t cry because her hopes of having a high position in His Kingdom weren’t coming true. She didn’t cry because of fear of persecution. She didn’t even cry because He was dead (even though I am sure she did.) She cried because they had taken her Lord away!

How many of us would cry if something so tragic happened in our lives that made us feel or believe that God is dead. For Mary it wasn’t her tragedy that made her cry, no, she wept because she has lost her Lord and she missed Him. I think if we could interview Mary Magdalene today about that moment she would say, “I would have given it all...but give me Jesus.” Isn’t this what Christianity should be about? When we have Jesus, suddenly all the promises of the world seem like junk. When we have Jesus all that it takes to make us joyful is the name “Jesus”.

I believe Mary just missed Jesus. She missed her daily walk with Him in those couple of years (see Luke 8:1-3). You know, following Jesus wasn’t boring because Jesus took His disciples from one place to another and He did amazing miracles in their presence. Why is our daily spiritual life boring? Why do we want to settle down? Why are we scared of miracles? Mary wasn’t scared and her love and devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ was honoured because she was the first evangelist as the Bible continues to say in verses 17-18 of John 20:

Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.' "

Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: "I have seen the Lord!" And she told them that he had said these things to her.

Today we also can share the joy of Mary because the Lord is alive and can sing with her...

Jesus is Alive - Ron Kenoly

Hallelujah

Jesus is alive

Death has lost its victory

And the grave has been denied

Jesus lives forever

He's alive! He's alive!

He’s the Alpha and Omega

The first and last is He

The curse of sin is broken

And we have perfect liberty

The lamb of God is risen

He's alive, He's alive!

Jesus is alive!

About the model: This is my classmate Katya who is an Orthodox Christian from Russia. Katya has an amazing voice—the best I have ever heard in real life. She can sings anything from a deep voice like Louis Armstrong in What a Wonderful World to an angelic choir voice which she does regularly at her church. She has an excellent control over her vocals even though she has never taken any singing lessons! Her voice is a true gift from God because she is a very, very talented singer and it is true joy listening to her sing. I wouldn't be surprised at all if she becomes a very popular singer :)

This row of temples is a portion of the famous 108 Shiva temple complex of Burdwan, West Bengal. Established by the widow of the then King of Burdwan Maharaj Tilakchandra, Maharani Bishankumari in 1788 AD, the temple-complex is an amazing sight to behold. Encircling a central large pond, the 108 temples are arranged in 4 rows, along the 4 banks of the pond. It has been recently repaired & painted. It is now a famous tourist attraction of Burdwan.

Lin Bo'en is an old preacher who has believed in the Lord for many decades. Since accepting Almighty God, Christ of the last days, he was convicted, excluded, and expelled from the religious community by the pastors and elders, the antichrist forces. But even though Lin Bo'en was attacked, convicted, and framed, he did not shrink back in fear. Rather, his faith became more resolute than ever, and this led him to finally understand that the pastors and elders of the religious world were faking a virtuous appearance. At the same time, he came to know that only Christ is the truth, the way, and the life, and only Christ can save and purify and perfect man. Because of this, he was resolved to follow Christ, bear witness for Christ, and do his utmost to pursue the truth, to seek to transform his disposition so that he could become a true witness for God. Once the Chinese Communist Party discovered that Lin Bo'en was released from prison and had not changed, that he had not renounced his faith in the slightest bit and even believed in the Eastern Lightning , that he went everywhere to testify that the Lord Jesus had come again and that He was Almighty God, the CCP listed him as wanted and went to arrest him. Lin Bo'en was forced to leave his family, and in each place he testified to Almighty God's work in the last days, he was able to lead a lot of sincere, good-natured believers to God's side. This video gives an account of Lin Bo'en's true story of spreading the gospel and testifying for God.

The godly will flourish like palm trees

and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon.

For they are transplanted to the Lord’s own house.

They flourish in the courts of our God. Ps. 92:12-13

Driving back from the Highlands, I noticed this church on the small road opposite a loch. I turned back and parked in the lot to photograph it but realized it was so dark that after 5 shots up to 5 minutes each, i wasn't getting enough detail on the shot to make it work. Then a car came from the south and their lights illuminated the church and a few of the graves. I quite like this shot.

The reveal of my mesh head I said I'd never get unless I could make it more like me than my current system - welp, we did it bois! Thanks for y'alls help!

"Ja tunnustetusti suuri on jumalisuuden salaisuus:

Hän, joka on ilmestynyt lihassa,

vanhurskautunut Hengessä,

näyttäytynyt enkeleille,

saarnattu pakanain keskuudessa,

uskottu maailmassa,

otettu ylös kirkkauteen."

"Och erkänt stor är gudaktighetens hemlighet:

»Han som blev uppenbarad i köttet,

rättfärdigad i anden,

sedd av änglar,

predikad bland hedningarna,

trodd i världen,

upptagen i härligheten.»"

"Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great:

God was revealed in the flesh,

Justified in the spirit,

Seen by angels,

Preached among the nations,

Believed on in the world,

And received up in glory."

1. Tim. 3:16

I Timothy 4:8 NKJV " For bodily exercise profits a little, but Godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come."----------------------------------- The world emphasizes beauty, ability, and success. The world says fame, fortune, and power define greatness. Unless God is the backbone supporting our thoughts, we can be easily lured into taking on the philosophy of the world rather than the standards in the word of God. Constantly striving for influence, power, and money while ignoring the only example of greatness we have in Jesus! [ Matthew 20:28] " Just as the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many."------ A true leader places his or her needs last, as Jesus demonstrated in His life and death. If we embrace a life of Godliness we have some examples to live by.. (1) Never considering ourselves above others : { Romans 12:3} ( if we are proud, we cannot exercise our faith and gifts to benefit others. And if we consider ourselves worthless, we withhold what God intended to deliver to others through us.) (2) we should not be prideful : { James 4:10} ( when we submit ourselves to the Lord, He works through us to achieve His will. His glory allows us to accomplish things that are not possible through our own wisdom and strength.) (3) Help the weak by caring, Rather than criticizing : { I Thessalonians 5:14} ( The Lord ministers to us in different ways, depending on what we need at the time. When we help others, we need to ask the Lord to make us instruments of His love, mercy, and grace.) (4) Be ready to give all to promote salvation of the lost : { Mark 8:35} ( Jesus want's us to choose to follow Him rather than live a life of sin and self-satisfaction. We can gain nothing on earth that will ever compare to what we gain with Christ.)-- Every believer should have a servant's heart, and be willing to serve whenever the opportunity presents itself.. " For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another." [ Galatians 5:13]-------- God blesses us so that we might bless others. That is what the Christian life is all about.

When the storms of life come, the wicked are whirled away, but the godly have a lasting foundation.

[Proverbs 10:25 NLT]

5 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:

1. Like it or not, we are ALL sinners: As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous—not even one. No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God. All have turned away; all have become useless. No one does good, not a single one.” (Romans 3:10-12 NLT)

2. The punishment for sin is death: When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. (Romans 5:12 NLT)

3. Jesus is our only hope: But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5:8 NLT) For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23 NLT)

4. SALVATION is by GRACE through FAITH in JESUS: God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. (Ephesians 2:8-10 NLT)

5. Accept Jesus and receive eternal life: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9 NLT) But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12 NLT) And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. (1 John 5:11-12 NLT)

Read the Bible for yourself. Allow the Lord to speak to you through his Word. YOUR ETERNITY IS AT STAKE!
