I went to photograph the fuchsia in the background when she followed me out and sat down on the post. She is very camera shy it's hard to get a decent photo of her and all of a sudden there she is sitting there like a Godess. It lasted only a minute but I got a bunch of cute shots and this one is awesome actually looking at me for a second 💕

Someone anonymously sent me crystal elixir drink bottles. They are beautiful glass bottles and you place crystals in a compartment at the bottom to harness the energy and healing vibrations of the crystals. I have no idea who sent them or whether it was someone from Flickr. It was such a lovely thought.
Above is looking back over the salt lake where the pink crystals are highlighted by the early morning sun and casts a golden glow over the wheat fields.

It has a prominent position on a steep bastion near the entrance of the Acropolis.
The ancient temple of Athena was a temple dedicated to the godess Athena Polis on the Akropolis in Athens.
It was the most important temple in Athens untill its function after its destruction by the Persians in the 5th century BC, was taken over by the Parthenon and the Erechteion.
Now only remnants of the podium and the Caryatids of this temple remains.
The Caryatids are pilasters in the shape of a female statue..

It is an amazing place to be with friends and your loved ones. Nice place to explore and take pictures. And I found the owner of the sim an amazingly lovely person who extended help to give us razz rights.
Legend has it that the godess Athena threw her spear into the ground of Akropolis and out sprang the first olive tree or even the tree of life in Greek mythos. Todays tree is a later reminder and behind it the Erechteion/Erechtheum built 421 - 401 BC once containing several shrines, and later to become a Christian church. Is it possible anywhere to come closer to absolute mythos than here?

There are a lot of links in here and I think some fascinating information. Indeed, I am amazed that the Film industry hasnt made wonderful Films about these great historical events of which there are many stories, in Irish mythology.

The ancient Celtic festival of Samahain starts on Oct 31st and continues to midnight on the 5th of November.
It has absolutely nothing to do with Holloween as that is a modern invention foisted on us by the Christian church in order destroy the traditional Pagan festival. It is pre Hollywood, Tescos, Pumpkins and Americanisms, Broomsticks, Fireworks and Guy Fawkes. Lidl and Aldi were not around then either though I struggle with that one slightly!
Im afraid it is only one of many wonderful historic festivals that have been completely obliterated together with the destruction of wonderful pre Christian statues, artifacts and the many spring wells { Shelias Well- A local well dedicated to the fertility godess " Shelia na Gig "., the waters of which would have been drunk by women for thousands of years in the hope of falling pregnant, now totally destroyed { apart from the signage name and the railings that surround it } which were all associated with the ancient gods and Spirits of nature and the waters of each one had a cure for a particular ailment.

There are some out of the way places, though where these historical things still exist and I know of a few.
Thankfully, in the last 10 years we have recovered our national identity somewhat. Its wonderful to be a member of Europe in many ways but not totally and all of us in our individual countrys should cling to our identies as much as we can as they say that if you dont cherish your past, you cannot cherish your future. It is something that our nearest neighbours feel they have lost and are now leaving the Union. Of course we and Northern Ireland are caught in the middle of this fiasco but thankfully we are determined not to allow any borders here and quite rightfull so. Heres hoping!
I was trying to get this photo up here before Samhain was over but to be quite honest I had so much carousing and acts of debauchery to get through, I didnt get time. Its not easy you know but someones got to fo it!

this is the detail of a proeminent fountain in Lisbon by the name of "Fonte Luminosa" (fountain of light). Although it might seam it was taken at night, it was actually broad day light - I just played with the light.

Cave Temples, Dambulla, Sri Lanka
The UNESCO World Heritage Site listed Dambulla cave temple complex is one of the most fascinating historical and religious attractions in Sri Lanka. There are more than 80 documented caves, with the major attractions spread over 5 caves which contain statues and paintings related to Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses. The latter four include two statues of Hindu gods, Vishnu and Ganesh. The area around Dambulla is thought to be inhabited from as early as the 7th to 3rd century BC, with the statues and paintings in the caves dating back to the 1st century BC.
Photo edited and taken at: Winter Love Valley
In the snow-covered mountains of Norse mythology lived Skaði (Skade) the Norse goddess of winter, skiing and hunting also the daughter of Tjatse - a fallen giant..
She was the mistress of the mountains, where the sun dances on the glacier edges, and the wolf's howl echoes through empty valleys. Skadi walks the windswept mountains, a huntress sculpted from ice and legend.
Just like most of us who were born in Northen Scandinavia the longing for snow and mountains is always within us, wherever we live on earth.

The mighty Shannon is the longest river in the British Isles at 224 miles. { The Severn in England is next at 220 miles } its names is taken from the Celtic godess, "Sionann" who was the grandaughter of Lir. [ See the Children of Lir link ]

It rises in the Cuilcagh mountains in Co. Cavan and travels southwards before entering the sea in Limerick. It divides the country roughly from east to west and it is steeped in History, mythology and folklore.
Athlone is the main crossing point of the river and is the centre of Ireland.
For a thousand year, this crossing has been fought over by every invader who came here and the worst came in 1690 when 10,000 protestant troops loyal to William 3rd, laid siege to the town and castle. They survived it but they returned again in 1691 with double the troops. The towns 9 arched bridge was unbreached but they successfully crossed the ford [ in my photo ] and it is said slaughtered 12000 catholic Jacobites.
Today the only invaders here are tourists. Its a wonderful town with its quaint narrow winding cobblestone streets with history around every corner, old worldy shops, tiny atmospheric pubs, music and friendly easy going people. Visit the castle which is a amazing or walk the Shannon or better still jump on a cruise ship to Lough Ree and back.

Im just wondering how you all feel about the recent changes in Flickr regarding free accounts and the 1000 max uploads.
Love to know your thoughts. A very good friend of mine and yours has just left.
Larissa Datscha. An amazing wildlife photographer from Finland has left in protest. Her red squirrel photos got to me every time! Enchanting! A lovely lady and sadly missed. If anyone can contact her, do plead with her to come back to us!
Ive tried messaging but to no avail. Im hopeful as she has not removed her photos as yet. See link below.
Dont you all go leaving me either, now!!!
