40 Courthouse Square, was built after an 1895 fire destroyed this corner which included a second floor Grand Opera House. The Bank of Montreal was located here for many years. Ionic columns support a segmented pediment on the corner entrance. Building scale and window detail balance the bank design at #24.

87 North Street, St. George’s Anglican Church and Rectory. The rectory was built first in 1862 to face Nelson St. when the original frame church was still on St. George’s Crescent. After a fire, the church was rebuilt on this corner in 1881. By
that time there were three churches on North St causing local residents to refer
to the street as “Pater Noster Row”. The front end of this church is shaped like
the bow of an ark and the floor slopes gently towards it (an unusual feature for churches of this denomination). The steeple and roof were refurbished in 2010.

Victoria St. N. at Hamilton St., Dutch Liberation Memorial Park was donated by the Dutch immigrants, who settled in this area in the 1950s, as a tribute to the role Canadian soldiers played in the liberation of Holland during World War II. The fountain can be seen as a ring of people with outstretched arms or as a stylized tulip. The gazebo with a distinct design on each of the four sides represents the four regions of Holland.

Goderich is the oldest Canadian light station on Lake Huron and first consisted of a pair of range lights established in the early 1830s. A contract for the erection of the current lighthouse was entered into in 1845 and called for the tower to be completed by July 1, 1846.
GEXR 2303 and RLK 4095 depart the harbour track with 10 loaded salt hoppers. In the background is the Sifto salt mine as well as freighters Frontenac and Algomarine. When this photo was taken the Algomarine had less than a month left in service. Her final load of salt was carried down the St Lawrence Seaway in early May and decommissioning took place at Montreal on May 10. She was then towed across the Atlantic under the name "Mari", arriving at a Turkish scrapyard in June.

Description From Owner:
This apple orchard near Goderich has fascinated visitors for four generations with its many sculptures fashioned from cement, metal, fieldstone and found materials by George Laithwaite (1873-1956).
Some of his human figures were created as satirical or political commentary on world events, whole others were based on comic strip characters.
The uniqueness and diversity of these statues has made Apple Park a local landmark. Laithwaite Apple Park also offers a farm store selling seasonal products.
