Up atop the Grand Mesa tonight as a storm moved through the valley below us. Heaven opened up and shone a beam of light down on the valley. Amazing sight!

In Europe's medieval philosophy and theology (note that they were not separated - just like the big cathedrals were not just places of worship but also the location of vast libraries) it was a common thought that two books were written "by the finger of God"; the Bible and Nature. My point here is not to return to a pre-modern world view, but to highlight that here we have a sophisticated understanding that studying and "reading" nature are an alternative way of getting closer to God [or, to use a more scholarly language, a way to educate our ignorance]. Genesis 5:24
New International Version
24 Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.
Gumbok Rangan or God's Mountain, is an imposing, solitary peak located in the remote Kargyak village. This village is inaccessible for seven months of the year due to snow and lack of roads. Gumbok Rangan is one of the most sacred sites for Zanskari Buddhists. Gumbok means God and Rangan means Natural...The foothills of the Gumbok Rangan precipice are at an altitude of 5,486 meters.
To reach here is itself an adventure. When we set out towards gumbok rangan, we had no idea how treacherous it would be to get there. But once we got there, the happiness it gave us is indescribable. I felt strong positive vibes around this sacred mountain ⛰️😍
The junction of the River Elbe with the North Sea in Schleswig-Holstein offers wonderful exhibitions of God’s artworks. It reminds one of the famous song, ‘What a Wonderful World’.
He will always give us a way of escape. He won't allow us to be tested and tempted beyond our ability to resist. ... Or, we fall prey to sin simply because we don't remember to search for the way out that God has promised to provide

It's been raining so much here for the last 2-3 days... so many hurricanes lately and that earthquake here in Virginia, God must not be happy :)
I am the righteousness, the church and the holy
I am the voodoo doll you want to believe
I am the angels that hold and surround you
I am the demon you're afraid to meet
I am the temple that will bless and feed you
I am the religion keeping you in chains
I am the cure that you pray will find you
I am the disease running through your veins
So watch as I set fire to everything
Watch as I burn down everything, anything
Watch as I destroy you
Watch as she turns into God
Watch as she, watch as she turns into me
God is She, She is God

I was strolling with friends in light fog at Mackinaw City, Michigan, when I noticed these streaks of light being produced by shadows and light. Had no camera with me so I used my telephone for the shot. The rays seemed to be coming from or going onto the house.
"Tip of the Mitt", the name above the door, refers to its location. In the USA, the State of Michigan is shaped like a mitten. This house, when you hold your right hand up with the palm facing you, sits at the tip of your middle finger on Lake Huron (one of the five Great Lakes in the USA) . . . the tip of the mitt.

The Panorama Route near the Blyde River Canyon has many hiking trails and impressive viewpoints. God's Window was the most beautiful for us.
If there was a god yes, we've been blessed. For all we've been put through, and persecuted for, for some reason, people still wanna be us.

Daniel and I spent a good 30 minutes experiencing some light showers and IMHO the best sunrise setting I've seen in Singapore.
I call this "progressive blending". composite of several stages of the sunrise in a single image.
1. First image is tonemapped from 2 exposure. Both shot before sunrise . exp @ 220sec and 150 sec. One had the benefit of a yellow floodlight bathing the foreground from behind us (before it shut off) and the second one had me painting the foreground with a powerful torch hence the selective yellow on the stones beneath the water.
2. Then I had 3 tone mapped images each with a sequence of 4-5 exposures at different times in a 10-15 minute window.
3. All the 4 individual tonemapped images were blended - hence the "progressive stages " of dawn .
Because all the gods are actually the same almighty God. To each man his own truth and the God that is inside him.

There is something about this part of my small world that is special to me... maybe it is because I remember fishing with my father in the willows on these small streams as a very young boy. Kilgore, Idaho.

Yes, God often turns away his face
And loves impossible are many
The way we're born
Into the life
What is left?
Yes, for the many, many days
For the unceasing pain
The way we're born
And ask for a bit of mercy
My God...
My God, all the soul you have instilled in me
My God, all the soul
What, what is it?
My God, please give strength to everyone
My God, please give strength to the world
