While photographing the food, I noticed it looked like an owl...;))
It's a ramekin of cauliflower and a ramekin of zucchini and tomato soup, plus honeydew melon for the owl's beak. ( A ramekin is a little bowl you can bake in...)
It was a healthful and delicious lunch. I am shedding some excess pounds. I use LoseIt, an iPhone App to keep track if everything I eat each day. It keeps track if the calories and compares the total to my allowable daily total. It's very goal oriented...;)) I also enter daily exercises, and it shows how many calories I have burned.
Yesterday I went one quarter of the way up Tumamoc Hill in half an hour...;)) I was pleased that I could do it again. Next time perhaps I'll do half the way up... That is my next exercise goal.

Another old photo retouched using Adobe Lightroom 2.0. This has been posted previously in my stream.
This shot was originally too dark but thank goodness for shooting RAW. I was able to save it with no problem.
UPDATE: EXPLORE! rank 272 for Augst 5th, 2008

...she tells me she's uncomfortable in front of the camera... and I think she said she hadn't done this type of thing before... Either I'm not being told the truth or she's a natural.

Made it to Explore Nov. 29th, 2007... Didn't post this before because in color it was "OK" not spectacular. Applied a new treatment I made in Adobe Lightroom and it works much better...
This reminds me of a portrait from Essence magazine. (Not that I'm anywhere near that good)

Another Adobe Lightroom 2.0 production.
This is my best friend's girlfriend. A shady modeling agency tried to swindle her and my best friend out of some cash and tried to get them to hire one of their in house photographers for some ridiculous fee. I'm know I'm not a pro but at least these shots were free for them. And I got to play with my new brellaz and gels.
Strobist info: 2 Nikon SB800 flashes into two 46" translucent umbrellas. One blue gel, one red gel. One SB29s macro flash on the lens.
Camera left - SB800 with on flash diffuser through yet another 10" or so white diffuser
Above camera I'm holding an R1 remote flash
Camera right - another R1 on the grass about 4 feet away from Ashanti
...gotta love wireless flash...
Made it to Explore October 18th, 2007
I've seen this look before. From friends and family members when I was about to do something and knew better and was about to do it anyway.
'Mercury in Capricorn' - Illustration by Menega Sabidussi.
Mercury, the Winged Messenger, represents communication, thought processes and mobility. The Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) are the initiators of change in the zodiac. Mercury in Capricorn, the Cardinal Earth sign, has a grounded authority, a steely determination and an understanding of hierarchical systems. He is the initiator with an unvarying goal and reputation in mind, intent on his task, thorough in his thinking, a clear communicator, skeptical but structured and productive. He has a daunting quality about him and no time for frivolity and waste. He also has the best contacts in all the right places.

From my last shoot of 2008
Taken at Navy Pier Chicago. There was actually a crowd behind us, not watching but roaming around the pier. The light source is a hand held SB800 that I'm pointing at the ceiling. It's triggered by the D200's wireless lighting system.
To get the exposure right for the stained glass and the subject I had to dodge her face, arm and part of her dress. This is an extremely cropped photo; it was originally a full portrait.
