One of the many birds resident at the Backwoods Camp, really worth the visit but you need a long time there for photography, a large bird list is easy though and the guide, Loven, is incredibly knowledgeable.
One of the four species in the area, this one is either worn or a juvenile before it reaches full plumage.
We saw these a couple of times standing distantly in the fields, luckily this one managed a flypast.
A moment, frozen in time...
The movement of the waves, of the splashing water, and of the nymph emerging from the ocean - instantly stilled.
[Getting this frame right was as much a challenge for the model as for the photographer wading waist-deep in the water - this was shot, not in a placid swimming pool but in the sea, and the force of the waves is visible from the picture]

Bindiya's own Flickr site is now online, she has a terrific portfolio on it.

Dusk at the riverside.
On the winding road paralleling Chapora River, with Chapora Village visible in the distance.
This one I struggled to get an image of last year, some improvement this year but it's a real struggle in forest conditions and it only sat for a few seconds. At least I've had a good look, very similar to a Common.
This young tightrope walker makes a living showing off her skill to tourists on Goa's beaches.
Her brother puts up the rope across bamboo posts hammered into the sand, her performance lasts a few minutes with three or four traversals of the tightrope with various props, then the brother dismantles the set-up while she goes around with a metal plate, collecting contributions from her audience.
Ten minutes later, the rope is set up elsewhere on the beach, and the show goes on.
Chidi works as a driver in Lagos, Nigeria for an MNC. I saw him wearing this 'Goa' tee-shirt and I knew I had to make this portrait.
Goa is one of my favourite places in India and I have spent some great times there. Chidi got this tee-shirt as a gift and he said he would love to visit Goa someday.
I really wish he does...

Just that - a silhouette...
The setting sun reflecting like silver coins on the ocean, and the finely carved form of the young lady, with neither color nor identity to distract.

Not sure of the name for this, some seem to call it a water apple but after looking I still am not 100%.
Postcard of cows on Vagator Beach in Goa, India. Cows are regular visitors of Goa beaches. Sent by a Postcrossing member in Russia.
Time goes by...
A dilapidated chair, in a dilapidated Portuguese villa, in Asagao, Goa, India.
The fallen leaves and the solitude of the chair tell a story that a mere caption cannot describe.
Pink shoes, hung up for sale at the Anjuna Flea Market, in Goa, India.
The reflection of the pink color on the bright blue bamboo post is fascinating, as are the bold primary colors in the background.
This riot of color characterizes, in a way, the magic of Goa - as does the incogruity of this unusual pair of shoes.
The Flea Market sets up right next to the Anjuna beach each Wednesday, with everything from flower-power hippie clothing to imported cigarettes for sale, and live bands performing for all. The market is a must-see for tourists, a weekly social event for the many long-staying expatriates, and totally incomprehensible to the Goan locals, who cannot understand why anyone would go shopping at the overcrowded flea market for the most esoteric of knick-knacks at noticably high prices.
A century-old metal door, reinforced against any attack but that of time.
From an old Portuguese villa in Asagao, Goa, India.
The one butterfly we really wanted to see, and to land briefly was a bonus albeit on the jungle floor in poor light, sadly I didn't do it justice with these pictures. It's the largest butterfly in India and spectacular.
We saw these a couple of times standing distantly in the fields, luckily this one managed a flypast.
