The E&LS is getting ready to leave southbound out of Channing with a mix of cars in tow behind the classic looking GM Electro-Motive Leasing SD40-2.
They are pulling a trio of 2-bay covered hoppers, a long cut of open log cars, a few heavy cars of logs and about ten box cars at the tail end.

GM&O F3 #883A on the turntable at South Joliet Yard. After arriving on the "Plug," it has been fueled, watered sanded and turned. Shortly, it will be backed into the roundhouse for the evening, ready for the next morning's commuter run to Chicago. March 1969.
I posted an earlier shot of 883A from the other side of the turntable at the South Joliet Roundhouse. This view shows the unit as it is backing off the turntable, March 1972.

This classic GoMo GP30 was bringing up the rear on a three unit consist that was the power on a southbound freight just leaving the yard in Homewood, IL back in March of 1979. Up front were two Illinois Central classics, a black GP40 and a black high hood GP9. Being in third place wasn't so bad behind those two EMD's.

Uno de los trenes “reforzados” es este, el mítico tolvero Poago-Lugones, en el vídeo le vemos con doble composición de tolvas ya que el de por la tarde y del dia siguiente estarían suprimidos. La 319.402.4 sube la dura rampa de Villabona con el vacío 83270 (en este caso creo que PY218) con sus 28 tolvas. 28-09-2010.
