Let's be honest, I went on this trip with a case of photography anxiety!
To combat it, I conditioned my brain to have no expectations - just show up and do my best.
Still, I was nervous deep inside.
On this cloudless morning, we got to Mesa Arch about half an hour before sunrise.
Being a Sunday, I knew there would be a big crowd and I did not count on getting a spot in front of the arch.
Perhaps being a Sunday worked to my advantage, for there were only two photogs with tripods taking up the center stage (the rest probably knew better to avoid the weekend chaos!), most others (at least 100 if not more, scattered around) were casual visitors just there to capture the sunrise with cell phones. Many of them climbed up the rocks to the left of the arch or the higher ground on the right side behind the arch, obviously they didn't understand what made this a unique sunrise shooting location!
There were even TWO open spots in front of the arch: the 1st and the 3rd on the right side (facing the arch)!
I took the 3rd spot (from the right) and I held my ground, though I really wished I could take a photo of that nearby dome shaped rock which was bathing in the glowy pre-dawn light!
I did not bring a tripod because I needed the freedom to move around.
I walked away with 4 good photos, that's way more than I have ever expected!

Moth I spotted laying eggs. I have no idea what Moth she is; I have never seen this yellow and orange coloring before, and such glowy yellow eggs, including the little egg all on its own. Note that these are the moth's actual coloring, I only changed the focus of the background :)
And Greg just told me this is an Imperial Moth.

Tried to capture a portrait of my character and do something different with it.
I managed to follow through Anya Ohmai's Artbreeder Tutorial to give it a try and I am loving the result so far!
Edited it in Photoshop, morphed it together, threw in some glowy effects and background - then fixed up some of the hair/fur in Procreate.

Swaths of wild phlox paint the sun dappled forest floor in high spring
Nice to be able to get out to nature for a while, and bring some back to share :)
It's high res, so you can zoom in, but much of it I made all soft and glowy, aiming for a calming, soothing vibe.

Leotax Leonon-S 5cm f2 modified.
Leonon lens is one of those that create bokeh that could not be missed or ignored. Some, like me, love it, other, like gear reviewers, see it as grave default. It produces rich, wild and swirly bokeh somehow similar to Biotar and Helioses.
So, I tried the same hack as the one often done with Helios-44, I inverted the first element of the lens. Mechanically, it did not work well. Contrary to Helios, with Leonon I could not attach the lens back and keep it permanently converted. The result is what I expected. The subject in the focus stays in focus, Very light flowers becomes noticeably soft and glowy. The bokeh is just perfectly broken.
