Possible the most cursed photographs I've taken in a long, long time.

So Hentai Woody has been in my photos since 2017 when I bought him from some dude in the parking lot of a mall in Richmond, BC. Since then, he's taken some trips with me, as well as taken a beating.

The Kaiiyodo Revoltech Woody 1.5 is worthy upgrade to the original set. It's not a new version, but rather it's the first one with some cosmetic updates and a slew of new accessories in the form of the Green Alien and several new faces.

Keep in mind that the MSRP on this one is also significantly higher than the first one, which was reissued a few years back.

Cosmetically, it's a bit subtle but the short version is that the skin is no longer glossy - it's a matte flesh tone (I don't think the flesh colour is painted) with some better rouge applied for the cheeks. Bandana is a darker red. Buttons are silver as opposed to flat grey. I think the pants are about the same colour but the boots are a lighter brown - I think this colour extends to the hat too.

One change I wasn't expecting is that unlike the Revoltech of yesteryear, the joints on the new Woody aren't ratcheting - they're friction based like with Figma and Figuarts. That means that you'll be able to get new Woody to pose a bit easier, and with less restriction, though the joints aren't exactly as smooth as the other two. No articulation was lost, but it just seems to take more effort to get things into position.

Speaking of smooth, I noticed swapping out pieces wasn't as easy as with the old figure. Now part of that is due to play wear I'm sure as well as questionable QC on the part of Kaiyodo. But the other part of it is, I feel, mould degradation and Kaiyodo having to do things to get it back into shipshape again.

Interestingly, the peg hole sizes have all changed. The new hands won't work on the old body, and I noticed I couldn't get Lenny the Binoculars on the new set to fit in the hand of the old one (there's a peg to slot it in).

The new selection of faces is nice and gives me the option of doing some interesting things (though let's be real - we both know which face is going to stay on.. but the option is there.). All faces still retain the ability to adjust the eyes which, as always, adds to the fun of photographing Woody.

The Green Alien is semi articulated. Shoulders and neck. It's nice but really won't do much for me unless Hentai Woody 2.0 needs a Serf to do some work.

Paint and Build are pretty much what you'd expect for a Kaiyodo product. They've never really been known for being top of the line from that regard, but they're usually competent. So long as we don't revisit the paint work of that IM3 Midas, we'll be OK.

Well, I've sat on a bunch of stuff from Anime Export, and figured it was time to bring them all home, as it were.

Of the bunch, definitely one of the figures I was most looking forward to is the Figma Rider 2.0 release.

My old one is tucked away at the moment, and a comparison photoshoot will eventually happen. Luckily I didn't buy it for hyperinflated aftermarket prices, because they weren't pretty back in the day.

I think it goes without saying that the entire set got a glow up, with vastly improved proportions, articulation, and even accessories.

It's nice that between material choices and the articulation, she can finally do her trademark slinky pose... mostly. At least, she can do it much better than the first one.

Static posed Rider Daggers allow for some more dynamic looking fight poses, though the metal ones are still around if you just want Rider to display in poses where the weight of the chain can be used to your advantage.

Colours are much darker compared to the first one, and I think this might have to do with her colour scheme being reworked to reflect the more recent Fate/Stay Night media.

Without a doubt, if you're lacking an OG Fate Rider, there's no reason to hunt down the first release.

One of the, at least for me, surprising releases out of Endgame was the 2012 Captain America figure. It's not like the first one sold particularly well, and I figured it's release was simply due to old stock lying around and repurposing it with new heads.

Turns out it's very much a top to bottom overhaul.

So new heads, as expected. Unhelmeted sculpt seen before. The helmeted head is actually what sold me this figure as it vastly improves upon the original one in terms of detailing and accuracy to Chris Evan's facial shape.

The actual body itself is taller than the oriiginal one, which I gues I should have expected seeing how Cap has changed between AoU and CW/Infinity War/Endgame, and has gained ankle articulation.

The uniform was completely redone, using modern materials and improved tailoring, which of course, means articulation is further restricted. They got rid of the loose hood gimmick, which I honestly can't remember ever being used. There's also been comments about how the lighter blue of the new one isn't quite as accurate, and frankly they're probably right. I just don't recall enough to say either way, nor have I actually rewatched Endgame.

It's not Black Widow, after all.

Accessory wise you of course have his shield, thankfully a modern one with the improved paint work and straps on the inside. As ther is no strap on his back, nor does he actually do it in the movie, there's no way to mount the shield to the back of the figure. You also get Loki's scepter along with the carrying case, which are nicely done and of course, makes more sense than giving Cap a Chitarui rifle like for the first release.

So overall, a very nice glowup overall for this particular version of the character, though it's not one I would have ever thought would be a great seller. The guy is going to be in museum poses anyway, so you might as well have him look good, and the functional ankles will at least allow for more natural looking poses.

So I spent a few hours at Glow Gardens here in Toronto. To summarize my experience, it was like if IKEA put together a winter light festival - it does the job, but it's fairy repetitive and only comes in like 3 colours.

I was child free, and as such was able to get some shots of Black Widow immersed in the festive spirit as it were.
