Macro Mondays and Curves

Saw these bloom in a garden centre, for cultivated...

A plant shines brightly in nature,

its light is so beautiful that one laughs at it.

Its glow is like a spell that enchants us,

when we see it, we are all bewitched.

Their radiance is gentle and yet so powerful,

it fills us with joy and makes us all happy and great.

It seems as if she is telling us a story,

of its beauty and its essence that keeps us spellbound.

The plant is like a gift from nature,

a small miracle that seduces our senses and calms us on the watch.

In their glow we find peace and tranquility,

and we feel the love that rests in it and fills us.

Oh luminous plant, you are so beautiful,

your light will always remind us of your beauty, even when we no longer see you.

A little more fun with this UFO - and some friends, who remain hopeful for humanity.

A pretty and glowing jellyfish at The Florida Aquarium in Tampa, Florida.

This tiny glow-in-the-dark snail is one of hundreds in the zoo's aquarium exhibits and was taken in very low light. The glass was stained and opaque from the inside, so the details were not clearly visible, but I liked the colors and glow.

Aquarium snails are fascinating creatures that play a crucial role in maintaining the delicate balance of their aquatic ecosystem. These tiny mollusks may look unassuming, but they are invaluable members of your underwater cleanup crew. From scavenging food scraps to consuming algae, aquarium snails help keep your tank clean and spotless.

A small (slightly larger than 1 inch)glass octopus that contains some material that glows for a while after exposure to light (posphorescence). I thought it had a bit of alien appearance. For Macro Mondays theme Mysterious.

Thought that this filtered light and the natural neon underwater sea creatures made for a fun shot. Dive in, the water's fine!

The alien Halloween visitor came from outer space and brought his pumpkin too! They are both glowing with excitement. 😬 HMM!!

For “Reflection” challenge in Macro Monday.

Made the 3D printed alien using glow in the dark filament. Added splotchy glow in the dark paint to his black eyes. Bought the polymer clay pumpkin & put a small LED light inside, so it glows too. Happy Shocktober! 👻

For this week's Macro Mondays challenge I decided to try something I have been wanting to do for awhile now - shooting a subject that glows in the dark through photoluminescence. These small stars are coated with a material that absorbs energy (usually in the form of a particular color light) and then releases it as another color light, in this case green.

The area in this image is is just under 7cm square.

Remembering Hans who helped make Macro Mondays one of the coolest groups on Flicker. Rest Well Hans.

Slinky got a new "glow in the dark" doodle :)

One of the few delights of these stay-at-home times is the aviary outside my kitchen window! It keeps my home filled with chatter and songs and lets me sit in my tall chair, sip tea and watching my feathered friends nesting.

Ready for Game of Thrones Season 6 premire

Glowworms are bioluminescent (‘glow in the dark’) bugs that are found only in Australia and New Zealand. They are not actually worms, but the larvae of a primitive fly, the fungus gnat. They emit blue-green light in order to attract small insects, which become entangled in webs that the larvae spin. These particular specimens live in an abandoned railway tunnel in Helensburgh, New South Wales.

#52 Weeks: the 2021 edition

#Week 41: Get pushed

A belated and unpaired contribution but featuring plenty of pushing: Lighting (UV), sliders (colours, levels) and even the pen needed a push.

Taken with a Helios 44 58mm f2 (ГЕЛИОС-44) 13 blade silver M39 lens, extended, uncropped.

Great Egret in full breeding colors/plumage on a windy day. The Great Egrets' breeding display is made up of a couple of bounces downward, a quick upward stretch with extension of the neck and head and a pronounced backbend, ending with a final bounce down. And there you have it.

7" record pressed on patterned, glow-in-the-dark vinyl.

This controller has two logos: The Sea of Thieves game icon and the Xbox logo. This controller has amazing glow in the dark features. Posting this for the Macro Monday theme: "Brand and Logos"

The Smiski boxes contained a series 1 figure who was looking back and a series 2 box figure peeking between his legs.

Well, as you can see the Goldfinches are back and some of the males already sporting their neon gold summer colors!

Some of the males are still "working" on their plumage but most already seem to have that glow in the dark brilliance.

Grogu is eating his halloween snacks while wearing a glow-in-the-dark skeleton costume

The macro challenge this week was to photograph "three." So I darkened the room at night and shot these three little glow sticks, which are intended to be worn on a wrist or ankle. Obtaining the correct exposure for such bright glow-in-the-dark lighting was challenging. HMM
