The Ollietron Model A homebrew transmitter is out of its cabinet and awaiting surgery. Left to right: Power transformer and 83 rectifier tube, PA plate milliamperes meter, filter choke and capacitor, 6L6 Oscillator tube, 6E5 "eye" tube, KT-66 PA tube, PA load variable capacitor and hand wound PA coil.

My Hickok 533A Tube Tester with 0A2 Tube with readout on my Hickok 533A Tube Tester with 0A2 Tube visible. Tested GOOD on the ENGLISH scale.
Receiver: 6SN7+6SL7 tubes 1V2 regenerative with a quartz crystal in the detector (kinda VXO).
Transmitter: 6SN7 MOPA. One triode XTAL oscillator, second one - grounded grid power amplifier. Output power 1 watt on 30m.

The oscillator will be completely rebuilt into a 6AG7 oscillator/multiplier with selectable vfo or xtal control and tuned output.
Top right: PA coil ceramic socket, next down from that is the KT-66 ceramic socket, then oscillator tube (will be 6AG7) ceramic socket. Most of the previous (6L6) oscillator wiring has been removed, and some of the new wiring and components have been placed. The bottom ceramic socket is for the 83 rectifier tube.

PS-It is a well known fact that disc capacitors keep better in a Gefilte Fish jar than in their original packaging.

Bioluminescent insect. This little fellow is about the size of a large ant and gives off a continuous bright glow like a green LED in his abdomen. If anyone can identify the species, please speak up.

Added pi-net tuned inputs for 160-10 Meters
Construction based on two Junker military tuning unit cases mounted "front to front". The front panel is actually the rear panel of one of the tuning unit cases. Internally, the "siamesed" mounting provided a natural compartment and structural mounting point for many components. The top and bottom are perforated aluminum stock. The main tuning dials, bandswitch, rack handles were also donated by the military tuning units.
This amp was built in 1978. The Power Supply Unit (not pictured) is a much modified heavy duty Lamda variable HV regulated power supply. It performed flawlessly on all bands and provided a nice kick to my Drake T4-XC

I'm actually surprised it's taken this long, given how long MLP and Strawberry Shortcake have been on the scene.
When I was in 1st/2nd grade, living in Virginia (I tend to remember things based on where I lived at the time - one of those side-effects of being a Military brat) these were THE TOY to have. My best friend got a full-sized one, and I remember how excited I was to get a mini one for Christmas from my dad's aunt. I still have it, in fact - it's one of the toys that has survived through many moves, and even through several of my kids playing with it. :)
There used to be a cartoon series too (as there always are around kids' toys, whether it be the Popples - which were popular around the same time - or Glowbugs or any of the myriad toys from back then.) Netflix apparently has a PP cartoon on streaming, but I don't think it's the same from when I was a kid.

A work in progress. This is what will be the power amplifier chassis of the transmitter. Graph paper is taped to the aluminum chassis to facilitate a neat layout of parts From foreground to background: Neutralizing condenser, Plate choke, 8000 Triode, Plate tuning variable capacitor.
