Using Lawn Fawn's new Year Four set. Coloured and glossy accents over. Press out hippo shapes from underneath while GA is still wet to create dimension

The crab was stamped onto white paper and then colors were added in layers using a glossy accents resist (cover white areas with glossy accents, let dry, ink light yellow, cover yellow areas with glossy accents, let dry, ink orange ... etc. through a dark red.) The crab was then fussy cut.

i masked off a squarish block & inked an acrylic block with some distress inks and 'stamped' onto the masked area. neat effect i learned from sally traidman's class. sentiment area was also masked off. butterfly images were sent to me by a friend (thanks!) and the orange color was perfect for this card! added some glossy accents to the butterfly. so addicting! but can anyone give me tips on how to photograph a card with glossy accents?

I loved Deborah's colour combination for February's CCC dominodebi.typepad.com/sos/2010/01/february-card-chain-ch... and thought I'd give it a go again on this card. I wanted to try out a technique I saw on one of Jennifer McGuire’s videos when she applied Versamark to a stamp, sprayed it with water and then stamped onto a distress ink background. The background has a mix of antique linen, shabby shutters and broken china on it. I stamped the engraved flower twice, cut the petals on the top layer to the flower centre and curled them up at the edges. All the images are on pop dots for a bit more dimension.

I couldn’t resist making some more ATCs for the challenge! Between having a terrible cloudy day here and uploading from a laptop I'm not sure if the photo is too bright\dark, so apologies if the photo is awful! Can't wait to get my pc back from repairs! Distress inks (shabby shutters, tumbled glass, walnut stain & pumice stone), glossy accents, watercolour pencils, ProMarker and googly eyes.

I had a blast making this card! The background is Broken China Distress Ink on watercolor paper. Then I sprayed it with Walnut Ink. I've never used sprays before so this was all new to me. After that, I misted it with water here and there, blotted it, and let it dry - this created splotchy effects.

I edited the Heart Owls stamp a little. First, I masked off the hearts when I stamped. Then I added eyelashes to the owl on the right and put flowers in both of the owls' "hair" to make them both girls. I thought this would be more appropriate for a friendship card.

Oh, and yes - that is a real twig! It is attached with Glossy Accents. The owls are raised on foam for dimension.

When I was placing an order with HA, my son Mark asked me to get him the Have a Donut set. He loves donuts and so do lots of his friends so I think there will be a lot of donut birthday cards this year. Anyway he let me borrow the set to make this card!

Looking at my stamps, I think food will probably feature a bit for the “home” theme! The donuts are coloured with watercolour pencils and the “icing” is covered with a layer of glossy accents. I made this card to go with a little gift for a friend. She loves sewing and donuts so I made a donut pincushion based on the look of one of the donut stamps to include with her gift. The pincushion was inspired by Alice’s wonderful cupcake keychain www.flickr.com/photos/28088321@N05/4474191187/

Used:

"A thorny affair"4092 by Penny Black stamps.

Tilda paper.

CL238 Owl Christmas ( JOY and branch ).

CM006 Stamp it Christmas.

Covered the ornament and the berries with glossy accents.

Colored the image with Derwent color soft pencils.

The background for this card is made from 140# cold-pressed watercolor paper (Canson Montval). I placed it on my non-stick craft sheet and used a blending tool and foam to apply Broken China, Scattered Straw, and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks. Then I used sponge daubers (Hero Arts MI002) to apply Faded Jeans, Wild Honey, and Rusty Hinge Distress Inks along the top and bottom edges.

Next I stamped music from Hero Arts CG279 Musical Clef along the top edge using Broken China Distress Ink. I used a paper towel to remove some of the ink before stamping, to give it a distressed look. Then I stamped the long botanical grass or willow image from Hero Arts CL428 Earth Flowers on top, using Wild Honey Distress Ink. And then I stamped a leaf image from Hero Arts CL477 Delicate Leaf Clusters using Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Next, I used a mini-mister to dribble water and immediately dried it using my Heat It craft tool (heat gun) for water splotchies. Then I mixed bronze Perfect Pearls with water on my non-stick craft sheet and used a paint brush to flick the metallic bronze all over the piece. I used my heat tool to dry it. Then, I stamped "Heartfelt Wishes" from Hero Arts CL272 All Occasion Messages using Memento Rhubarb Stalk dye ink.

The large butterfly is made from white cardstock. I stamped a butterfly from Hero Arts CL383 Antique Engravings using Ranger Archival Ink waterproof ink in jet black. Then I colored it using Victorian Velvet, Worn Lipstick, and Fired Brick Distress Inks applied with sponge daubers. I carefully cut out the butterfly and then added glitter to the edge of its wings using a Sakura clear glitter gel pen. I attached the butterfly using foam squares for dimension. See a close-up here.

The smaller butterflies were made by applying Picket Fence Distress Crackle Paint to pink cardstock. Once it was dry, I used punches to punch out the butterfly shapes. They are attached using Glossy Accents as glue.

I added a border to the top and bottom of the focal piece using Fiskars Sunburst Border Punch. I wrapped it with metallic gold elastic cord and attached it to a kraft card base to finish it off.

Part of my inspiration for this card was the Day 4 prompt in my friend Christy's (Gulfsprite's) 30 Days of Art Journaling class.

Thanks for looking! :-)

I made this card for two challenges - Virginia’s Beat the Winter Blah challenge and the Friendship and Valentine challenge.

The green panel was made by splattering water on distress inks (antique linen, shabby shutters and broken china) which had been applied to white card. Both flowers have 3 layers and have been coloured with watercolour pencils. The flowers are coated with glossy accents and I put diamond stickles on each stamen. I used spiced marmalade distress ink on the base card and peony versa color on the scallop border. Just added machine stitching to finish. Sending to a friend to hopefully help her beat the winter blah!

I have to admit that even though I’m Irish, this is the first St Patrick’s Day card I’ve ever made. I don’t have a leprechaun, shamrock, rainbow, crock of gold or any other St Patrick’s Day stamps to my name, so I just tried to make something with what I have!

The shamrock is made with one of Shari’s heart templates from last month heroarts.com/blogs/club/files/2010/01/cut-it-out-hearts.pdf and a flourish from CL182. I messed around with distress inks (shabby shutters, broken china and antique linen), sponging, spritzing and stomping (pouncing - thanks Barb!) to get the look I wanted on the shamrock. Then I covered the shamrock with a layer of glossy accents. For the borders I used clear ep and distress inks with CL288. Just added some machine stitching and faux stitching. The font I used for the sentiment is fiolex girls.

This card is for the Easter and Spring challenge and a last submission for the Everything But the Kitchen Sink Challenge #10 (use fabric) ebtkschallenge.blogspot.com/2010/02/ebtks-challenge-10-fa...

I don’t have any Easter stamps, so thinking of Sally’s theme this week, I tried to "make it work" by using the bunny from the Adorable Baby Girl set for the Easter Bunny and stamping his oval tummy lots of times for the Easter eggs. I love the little heart tree from the same set but put eggs on it for this card. The sky is a scrap of fabric embossed with the Flourish Background and the grass is another scrap of fabric with some machine stitching added to it.

I made this treat container for this month's challenge as well as the Food Wrap Challenge in the Moxie Fab World A matching card is here

I took this picture before I adhered the "thank you" sentiment on the scalloped circle to the inside of the card (shown here in front of the card), just so that you could see it.

I used Glossy Accents to make the doll's hair shiny. She is raised on pop dots above the scalloped circle, and the fan is raised on more pop dots for even more dimension. Also, it's a little hard to see in the photo, but the butterflies on the ribbon have a bit of glitter and shine to them. I love the "painterly look" that I got with the DesignBlock Flourish stamp on the acetate!

I was inspired to put the doll in a blue circle with black scallops after seeing cards made by a friend of mine, Sandy.

This is an ATC I made for Donna as part of Deborah’s March Card Chain Challenge dominodebi.typepad.com/sos/2010/02/march-card-chain-chall...

I used fabrics for the background. To make the Easter eggs I stamped the rabbit’s tummy lots of times, coloured with watercolour pencils and covered with glossy accents. I had forgotten how fun it is making ATCs – hope we have another swap soon!

These were for a Tim Holtz bottle cap magnets swap. The artwork was sealed under a thick coat of glossy accents (except for the music paper -- I used glossy crackle). June 2011

Hello there! I made a pair of cards featuring a doll and the Slanted Tree stamp which has flowers on it. One has a silver / grey / lavendar / jade color scheme and the other has an orange / cream / blue / citron / kraft color scheme. The dolls also have flowers on their kimonos and I added flowers to one of the doll's hair. I added Glossy Accents to the dolls' hair and the dolls are raised on pop dots for dimension.

Materials used:

* cardstock: white and kraft

* Die Cuts with a View (DCWV) Far East Mat Stack (4.5" x 6.5")

* Die Cuts with a View (DCWV) Metallic Stack (12" x 12"): gunmetal

The goodie jar is made from a recycled plastic rice container. The background is made from 90# cold-pressed watercolor paper colored with Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Faded Jeans, Dried Marigold, Wild Honey, and Rusty Hinge Distress Inks. Fiskars Sunburst border punch.

I stamped music from Hero Arts CG279 Musical Clef cling set onto the background using Tea Dye Distress Ink. Next I stamped a long botanical grass or willow image from Hero Arts CL428 Earth Flowers using Wild Honey Distress Ink. Then I stamped a spiky fern leaf from Hero Arts CL457 Real Leaves using Rusty Hinge Distress Ink. The "You are someone special" sentiment is from Hero Arts CL578 Good Friends and is stamped using Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

The butterflies are from Hero Arts CL383 Antique Engravings and are stamped on Glossy Paper using Ranger Archival Ink in jet black. Then they were colored using Spiced Marmalade (orange), Mustard Seed (yellow), and Shabby Shutters (green) Distress Inks. Next, I spread a layer of Crystal Stickles glitter glue over top of the butterflies. This gives them a lot of shine and sparkle! The butterflies are attached to the goodie jar and matching card using foam squares for dimension.

The lid of the goodie jar is made from a thin sheet of craft aluminum and has been embossed with a sunflower design. Once embossed, the reverse side was filled with DAP lightweight spackling compound to keep its shape. Then the metal was trimmed with titanium scissors. Next, the lid was altered with lemonade, peach bellini, and terra cotta alcohol inks from Ranger. It is attached to the original plastic lid using Glossy Accents as glue. I adhered natural colored lace from Blumenthal Lansing Company all the way around the top of the lid using 1" glue lines from Glue Dots.

I tried to make this year's set fairly different from last year's set. I used lots of distress inks and alcohol inks. Glossy accents covered areas to keep them white. My "extra" inchies was the "Dark" inchies I made from Hershey's Kisses wrappers. August 2011

Alternate view of my Upcycled Autumn Goodie Jar & Matching Card. This view shows the shine of the butterfly on the card. All of the butterflies are equally shiny, but it is hard to capture in photographs. Makes a nice contrast with the matte finish of the rest of the set.

When I was looking through the catalogue I stopped for a long time on page 27 to admire all the yummy cards there. They inspired me to make a card using the cute Have a Donut set. I remember Lisa using real ingredients like chopped nuts and salt on donuts in her scrummy looking card in this post heroarts.com/blogs/club/2010/07/09/happy-friday/ . So I thought I’d raid the kitchen presses and use some hundreds and thousands on my card. I also did some masking on the sentiments and had a bit of fun with the inside of the card www.flickr.com/photos/38067075@N02/5335684030/.

I needed to make a birthday card for a little boy and I always love using the Woodland Creatures and Adorable Baby Girl sets for these kind of cards. Thanks to Shari, I’m hooked on making easel cards now and this time I wanted to try to make a shaped one. The images are coloured with watercolour pencils. For a little bit of sparkle, I added diamond stickles to the white spots on the mushrooms, glossy accents to the balloon and some gems. The little mushrooms on the base of the card are on little easels.

The last of the peacock items sent to Leashah! :)

I've been playing with this mosaic technique a bunch and love it! The only hard part is applying this much glossy accents is a bit hard on my artiritic fingers/hands.

Once again the technique is simple: Cover your shape with wonder tape. Cut your scrap papers into your small "tiles". Cover exposed tape lines with embossing powders. Heat to emboss. Then cover the scraps with glossy accents so that they look like glass.

Made for the CAS-ology challenge: "Harvest".

casology.blogspot.nl

We have a delicious tasting apple overhere in the Netherlands, with the name: "Elstar".

I think it is THE best tasting apple! Just noticed the new harvest of these apples is in store now. Mmmm, love it!

This made it easy for me to make an apple card for the CAS-ology challenge this week.

The "Wood" background stamp is Hero Arts/Basic Grey. The appletree stamp is also Hero Arts/Basic Grey. The apples are cut with my Cricut Machine, using the "Freshly Picked" cartridge.

And than there was something missing....yes, some birds. I found these little birds on a Hero Arts stamp: "Many Birds", of wich stamp I only inked the two birds who are not in the tree , but are flying away :)

The tiny apples beside the card I found in our neigbourhood :)

This birthday card was sent out to a man in our family. I used a background stamp by Simon Says Stamp, hot embossed it in white. Sprinkled poeders on it and water to get this look. Cut the letters. Added some glitter and Glossy Accents to get a glossy look. And the little words are hot foiled.

Created for a private swap on Flickr.

July 2015

This piece is based on "Dissociative disorder " when kids have gone through a trauma they go elsewhere mentally to protect their emotional state . I made it using a few layers . I started with the background using shimmer mist sprays and acrylic paint dabbers and watercolour markers. Then I painted the bubbles lightly and then added glossy accents to them to make the bubbles look realistic & shiny. I then drew both girls on separate pieces of paper ( one girl is in her underwear to show her vulnerability and the other girl Is an older child who is naked but only shown from the top half to show her vulnerability & her growth ) I then glued them onto the pages . I then painted around the girls to give them an aura to show they were in a dreamlike state using a mix of Gesso & watercolour Markers .

For this card I used a combination of several stampsets by Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp. For the background I used the Hero Arts "Magical Background". In my eyes it can be waves. Stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder then colored with Pistachio Distress Ink. The fishes are from Hero Arts "Oceans of Joy" and Simon Says Stamp "Under the sea animals". Covered the fishes with a layer of "Wink of Stella" shimmer. And covered them with "Glossy Accents".

This is the card I made for my hubby's birthday today. Love the cute bees out of the Be Happy set and I thought the girl bee with her eyes closed is very appropriate for me with my fear of heights! More details are on my blog stampingandstitching.blogspot.com/2011/08/happy-birthday-...
