Island of Females (Pa)
It is a small islet that overlooks the small and charming town of the same name, which is located not far from Palermo.
It has been declared an Oriented Nature Reserve since 1997 to protect the extraordinary habitat which during migration periods offers a safe landing point for the numerous passing birds.
On the islet of Isola delle Femmine there are various legends from which this wonderful place would take its name.
According to some, in the past there was a women's prison, according to others 13 Turkish girls were abandoned there, stained with terrible crimes ... the fact is that it is not known exactly why this place took this very particular name.

Sometimes B&W works well. In this foggy setting with the sun hardly coming through (do you see it?) I think it works well. But hey everybody has his own preference :-)
Thank you so much for your visit and have a great weekend!
Most of you might be aware that I am now the proud Dad of new Puppy, so this means at the minute getting out on a hiking trip photographing my beautiful land is well and truly on the back burner, but when she has had all of her vaccines we will back out, so for now i'm trawling through my archive (inbetween training the pooch)
The second day of the trip to the polygonal lakes, it rained all day. I didn't want to leave the tent at all. Cold, darkness and the pleasant rustle of raindrops on the tent. Sometimes the clouds showed the mountains, this is one of those moments. Nothing special, just a snapshot of the gloomy north as a keepsake
Nature's many moods and atmosphere's move me.
Being in nature, or even viewing scenes of nature (thank you photography), reduces anger, fear, and stress and increases pleasant feelings. Exposure to nature not only makes you feel better emotionally, it contributes to your physical wellbeing, reducing blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and the production of stress hormones. Like so many, I'm addicted to it.
I was stationed in Pearl Harbor while in the Navy. Was wonderful! However after several years I missed the many moods that mountains and the 4 seasons provide. As I hunt primarily in the Autumn much grand moodiness is to be found.

Thanks for taking a look. Always appreciated!
Have a marvelous Monday and week!
One wrong step and neither the future groom nor the bride will ever see the wedding day.
It 's Hangzhou city in the backdrop on a gloomy day viewed from Baoshi Mountain.
Have a great weekend ahead friends.
Hope you like it. Cheers
This one needs some gel to keep its hair in place...
Phestilla lugubris is widespread throughout the tropical Indo-West Pacific, It feeds on colonies of the coral Porites, often in very shallow waters. Probably much more common than realised, it is very cryptically coloured and often hidden in crevices and beneath the coral blocks to avoid heavy fish predation.
