The College of DuPage Language Department and French Club (La Connexion Française), in collaboration with community members from the Alliance Française of DuPage, recently presented "Célébration de la Francophonie" at the College’s Glen Ellyn campus. The multicultural event featured displays on the customs of Francophone countries and treats from French-speaking countries, including Belgium, Congo, Switzerland, France, Haiti and Cameroon. In addition, participants had their “passports” stamped in each location and enjoyed student presentations and international folk dance.

Event celebrating two classes of the Ross School of Business' Global MBA Program. The annual event celebrates and bids farewell to the Class of 2019 and welcomes to Ann Arbor the Class of 2020. The event was held at the beautiful University of Michigan Museum of Art (UMMA) on June 27th, 2019.

As part of International Education Week at College of DuPage, the College’s Office of Student Life hosted an “International Flag Ceremony” hosted by Jim Dugan, manager of the World Peace Sanctuary in Wassaic, New York. Nearly 200 flags were represented at the special ceremony, which also included a custom “Peace Pole” with the eight most represented languages at COD. Students were asked to write a message of peace on a slip of paper throughout the ceremony, which were then placed inside a time capsule with the Peace Pole. Special thanks to the Global Education Advisory Committee that provided funding for the ceremony.

AFSers gathered in Washington, D.C. to honor AFS Changemakers who are making significant contributions to the field of international education and the AFS Mission of building a more just and peaceful world. Honorees included: Jenny K. and Michael G. Messner, founders of the Speedwell Foundation and providers of more than 200 study abroad scholarships; Congressman Jim Himes (D-CT), Co-Chair of the bipartisan International Exchange and Study Caucus, and original co-sponsor of a House resolution on the importance of international student exchange; and Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR), original co-sponsor of a Senate resolution on the importance of international student exchange.
