The streets of the Tambaram market are flooded with people in preparation for the New Year. (Sam Wisneski)
Oh! How we wished it never ended and kept thinking of it again and again. Sometimes we even wished to capture it with some advanced technology so that we could take it with us to the physical world. Well at times the real world is even more bewildering than the dream. Places that look like it jumped out of a prodigy’s complex mind. Well if you want to experience it, pack up and head to Belum Caves in Andhra Pradesh with Hippys !!

As an effort to create awareness about the day to day household activities of the community, a visit to a departmental store was arranged for children of Junior KG. The children were taken to the D-Mart Store. They were familiarised with the availability of different products in different sections. They were explained about the importance of different products in our daily life. Generally, children visit this place with their parents, but today they enjoyed this field trip with their teachers & friends.

Heritage walk - there are lots of these kinds of poles in the old city.... they are vents for the sewage underground pipes and they show the direction of the flow!
Students of Senior KG section had a grand Fancy Dress Parade. The theme was “States of India” and the variety was charming. Children began with a lovely speech on culture, food, capital of states. All of them dressed up beautifully in traditional garbs of the colourful states of our country and enthralled all with their superb performance. Apart from an event in which they could come all decked up, the children got a good idea about the unity in diversity that is part of the Indian culture. It was a wonderful day for all the children.

When we started for Nubra Valley, via the Khardungla Pass, as soon as we came out of Leh and started the climb up the mountains, we saw the outskirts of Leh peeping through the gaps in the mountains. Patches of green in an otherwise stark landscape. By the road came across some wildflowers, and these seemed an apt object to keep in the frame.
I often see flowers from a passing car
That are gone before I can tell what they are.
I want to get out of the train and go back
To see what they were beside the track.
I name all the flowers I am sure they weren't;
Not fireweed loving where woods have burnt--
Not bluebells gracing a tunnel mouth--
Not lupine living on sand and drouth.
Was something brushed across my mind
That no one on earth will ever find?
Heaven gives its glimpses only to those
Not in position to look too close.
