With three GP60 variants hauling a single car, the Pasadena Local looks rather overpowered as it passes under the ancient ATSF cantilever at Glendora. I got a similar shot here the year before, but had only filtered sun to work with so I was happy for the chance to shoot them again under a beautiful blue sky. That single hopper car is bound for the MillerCoors brewery in Irwindale.

A vintage Craftsman style house near City Hall in the historic district of Glendora, CA.

Former ATSF GP60M 104 leads the Pasadena Local west through Glendora towards the MillerCoors brewery in Irwindale on the former ATSF 2nd District. A scene like this is now unlikely to be duplicated, as the last group of superfleet GP60M's left in the LA Basin were sent away less than a week after this photo was taken.

A Santa Fe GP60 passes some ancient Santa Fe signal infrastructure on its way east from the brewery in Irwindale. The ABS signalling and passing sidings are more than is needed for this line today, as it sees nothing more than this weekday-only local freight today. Future construction of a light rail route will add more traffic to what was one an ATSF main line, but at the expense of the old-time feel of today's railroad through Glendora.

Glendora Ave. is nearly deserted at a little after 5pm on Chirstmas Eve 2019, as the sun peeks out from behind a building. (The clock in the picture is wrong.)

A beautiful Craftsman style home in Glendora. I posted the "wide shot" back in February.

Pretty much the tree is the park and the park is the tree at Big Tree Park in Glendora, a small mountain town in the foothills of Southern California.

I lived there when I was in college, and return from time to time to wander the historic streets taking pictures.

My love of trees is pretty historic, and the Moreton Bay Fig Trees in the southland are among my favorites. This one really stands out in Big Tree Park. Figuratively and literally!

Glendora Mountain Road, CA. This was my first encounter with the "sooty" subspecies of the Fox Sparrow. Thanks for looking and any comments or feedback.
