The original terminal station building was constructed between 1895 and 1905 as a replacement for the first terminus of the Brussels-Mechelen-Antwerp railway. The stone-clad building was designed by Louis Delacenserie. The viaduct into the station is also a notable structure designed by local architect Jan Van Asperen. A plaque on the north wall bears the name Middenstatie, an expression now antiquated in Dutch.
The station is widely regarded as the finest example of railway architecture in Belgium.
I had a medical appointment yesterday in a part of the city I don't normally go to, so brought my camera. Doesn't everyone bring their cameras to appointments? :) I don't remember the last time I was in this mall, but found it very interesting with all the layers, colours, glass and reflections. I tried it in black and white as well, but I liked the purple and the wood, so kept it in colour.
Happy Friday!
… this bronze character is left on his own more often than not in these lockdown times at St Pancras International.
This is the Telus Garden building in downtown Vancouver.
Kind of hard to explain when you can't see the entire building, but here I shot through a glass wall. Through it, you can see reflections and the glass curved ceiling (with patterns on the glass) and wooden ribs.
This office tower features 14,000 sq. ft. of green roofs, growing organic produce for local restaurants.
If you're curious about the building, here is some info on it, along with drawings of the building: henriquezpartners.com/projects/telus-garden/

I've emphasized the verticals and made golden light to reflect how it felt in that grand lobby surrounded by wonderful art via every passage.
The building now housing K21, the museum of contemporary art in Düsseldorf , was once the seat of government for the Rhine province of Prussia, prior to becoming the Parliament of North Rhine Westphalia in 1946.
German History Museum. Berlin, Germany.
Architect, I. M. Pei designed the Exhibition Hall Addition for the Deutsches Historisches Museum. Pei, also architect of the Louvre and many other famous buildings, passed away last year in Manhattan on May 16, 2019. The New York Times headline read “I. M. Pei, Master Architect Whose Buildings Dazzled the World, Dies at 102.”

… the main hall in St Pancras feels empty, almost soulless in lockdown, but the purity of its architecture stands out even more.
Explored #34 on March 7th 2021.
I took this looking through the glass doors and up through the glass roof of the Telus Gardens building downtown Vancouver. I mirrored the image, making it look like, to me anyway, rockets in a cathedral, hence the title. Or perhaps that's just my overactive imagination :)

Natural daylight shines in every room of the museum. To temper that light, Berlage installs an ultra-modern velum construction: a suspended glass ceiling, through which daylight flows moderately into the room and creates an intimate atmosphere. For the same reason, the rooms on the ground floor receive daylight through windows at the top of the walls.
A highlight of our visit to Berlin, Germany. (No pun intended 😊)
