LE PLATEAU DE GISEH :
Le plateau de Gizeh est situé sur la rive ouest du Nil dans le désert à 8 km du centre-ville de Gizeh et à 25 km du Caire. Ce plateau, nivelé par l'homme il y a 4 500 ans, a la forme approximative d'un carré de 1,6 à 1,9 km de côté. Le plateau est délimité au sud-est et au sud-ouest par deux failles orientées respectivement NE-SO et NO-SE, avec un escarpement côté sud-est descendant à 40 m de dénivellation, au pied duquel courait un canal du Nil séparant la zone désertique de la terre fertile. Ce canal présent au moment de la construction de la pyramide a dérivé vers l'Est probablement en raison d'une catastrophe naturelle, la rive ouest du Nil actuel étant désormais à 8 km à l’est du site.

Se lever tôt pour la visite de Giseh permet d'éviter une partie de l'affluence sur ce site de réputation mondiale. L'inconvénient étant, comme pour la photo suivante, que les poussières, brumes et pollutions levées la nuit n'ont pas encore été dispersées ; de ce fait, l'atmosphère gagne néanmoins en mystère, et le côté aventure du voyage s'en trouve renforcé, au profit des propriétaires de dromadaires, nombreux à proposer leurs services.
Great Sphinx Giza
The Great Sphinx is a limestone statue of a reclining sphinx, a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human. Facing directly from West to East, it stands on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza, Egypt. The face of the Sphinx is generally believed to represent the Pharaoh Khafre.
Die Große Sphinx von Gizeh in Ägypten ist die mit Abstand berühmteste und größte Sphinx. Sie stellt einen liegenden Löwen mit einem Menschenkopf dar und wurde vermutlich in der 4. Dynastie während der Herrschaft von Chephren (um 2520 bis 2494 v. Chr. ,nach anderen Angaben 2570 bis 2530 v. Chr. errichtet.

The Great Sphinx is thought by most Egyptologists to represent the likeness of King Khafra (also known by the Hellenised version of his name, Chephren) who is often credited as the builder as well. This would place the time of construction somewhere between 2520 BC and 2494 BC. It is one of the world’s largest and oldest statues.

Pyramid of Khafre
The Pyramid of Khafre or of Chephren is the second-tallest and second-largest of the Ancient Egyptian Pyramids of Giza and the tomb of the Fourth-Dynasty pharaoh Khafre (Chefren), who ruled from c. 2558 to 2532 BC.
Die altägyptische Chephren-Pyramide ist die zweithöchste der Pyramiden von Gizeh und zugleich die zweithöchste aller ägyptischen Pyramiden. Trotzdem erscheint sie höher als die Cheops-Pyramide, was an dem steileren Neigungswinkel und dem etwas höheren Untergrund liegt. Wie alle Pyramiden von Gizeh wurde sie in der 4. Dynastie um 2550 v. Chr. erbaut.
Cerca del Cairo, se extiende una llanura llamada Gizeh, en esta llanura se encuentra el complejo funerario más importante de la historia. Se trata de un conjunto de pirámides, entre las que se encuentra la más grande de todas ellas la Pirámide de Keops, cuyas dimensiones son de 146 m de altura y 230 m de ancho.Al lado de ésta se encuentra la pirámide de Kefren, con 10 metros menos de altura, aunque visualmente parece la más alta, debido a que está construida en una pequeña elevación del terreno.Por último la pirámide de Micerinos, la más pequeña de las tres pirámides pero igual de impresionante que las dos anteriores.
