I made these cookie bear door hangers over the weekend. Although I think the one in the background ended up looking more like a mouse. heh Anyway, I'm incredibly happy with how the bear in the foreground turned out; it was actually my third try. Creating separate pattern pieces instead of one solid pattern was definitely the way to go.

One does not grow up in a household with three boys without accumulating some strange Christmas traditions. One that sprang out of young males' tendency towards inappropriate humor was the annual creation of one bikini-clad and one speedo-sporting bear. I was responsible for both this year.
How classy are they? So classy.
DISCLAIMER: Every year my mother acts shocked that this has happened again and my father tries not to laugh. Neither one approves of the bears. This is not a parent-endorsed or encouraged tradition.

The high school students chose this cookie design because it was easy for them to make 180 of them. (I agreed cuz they need more practice on their flooding anyways! =)
These were placed on each place setting for the Christmas Dessert Cabaret.
