Getting closer to Christmas and I must finish posting my past houses, I do appreciate your comments even though many of you seen them in the previous years.
Here’s another photo that I took on Gingerbread Lane in Ankeny, Iowa. This entire neighborhood of 31 homes puts on a spectacular holiday light display every year. Each house has a gingerbread man and an accompanying placard that tells a part of the Gingerbread story. Near the end of the route, some of the residents collect donations for the Food Bank of Iowa. There is definitely some Christmas magic in this neighborhood.

Gingerbread is one of those things which definitely belong to a German Christmas market. I never buy any but in a way I would miss it if it wasn't there. They have some lovely designs at this time of year. :)
This picture was created as a family project. The gingerbread house was made by my grand-kids, the bokeh comes from the Christmas tree decorated by my wife and the composition / photo taken by me.

The Gingerbread Man
A little old woman baked a gingerbread man, and when she took him out of the oven, he ran away. The woman, her husband and some of their animals chased him. No one could catch him. He came to a river and a sly fox told him he could jump on his tail and he would take him across. He did and the fox went deeper and the gingerbread man had to jump on his back and then on his nose. When he got to his nose, the fox ate him.
