Gößweinstein gilt als spirituelle und kirchliche Mitte der Fränkischen Schweiz. Die Basilika von 1739 ist der zweitgrößte Wallfahrtsort im Erzbistum Bamberg.
Die Burg in Gößweinstein wurde erstmalig 1076 erwähnt !
Gößweinstein is considered the spiritual and ecclesiastical center of Franconian Switzerland. The basilica(1739) is the second largest place of pilgrimage in the Archdiocese of Bamberg.
The summit castle in Gößweinstein was first mentioned in 1076!
Als besonders erstrebenswert gilt es für strenggläubige Hindus, in Varanasi im Ganges zu baden, sowie dort einmal zu sterben und verbrannt zu werden. Entlang des Flusses ziehen sich kilometerlange, stufenartige Uferbefestigungen hin, die Ghats, an denen auf der einen Seite die Gläubigen im Wasser des für sie heiligen Flusses baden und wenige Meter weiter die Leichen der Verstorbenen verbrannt werden. Die Asche streut man anschließend ins Wasser. Ein Bad im Ganges soll von Sünden reinigen, in Varanasi zu sterben und verbrannt zu werden, ist der hinduistischen Mythologie zufolge, der Ausbruch aus dem ständigen Kreislauf der Wiedergeburt.
The Ghats in Varanasi are world-renowned embankments made in steps of stone slabs along the river bank where pilgrims perform ritual ablutions. The ghats are an integral complement to the Hindu concept of divinity represented in physical, metaphysical, and supernatural elements.[90] Varanasi has at least 84 ghats, most of which are used for bathing by pilgrims and spiritually significant Hindu puja ceremony, while a few are used exclusively as Hindu cremation sites. Steps in the ghats lead to the banks of Ganges, including the Dashashwamedh Ghat, the Manikarnika Ghat, the Panchganga Ghat, and the Harishchandra Ghat, where Hindus cremate their dead. Many ghats are associated with Hindu legends and several are now privately owned.
Many of the ghats were constructed under the patronage of the Marathas, Shindes (Scindias), Holkars, Bhonsles, and Peshwas. Most are bathing ghats, while others are used as cremation sites. A morning boat ride on the Ganges across the ghats is a popular tourist attraction. The extensive stretches of ghats in Varanasi enhance the riverfront with a multitude of shrines, temples, and palaces built "tier on tier above the water's edge".

Die Klarinette gilt als "junges Instrument"., es ist in Wirklichkeit recht betagt, ihre Geschichter reicht bis in die Antike zurück. Zum Beispiel in der altgyptischen Arghul, dem arabischen Zummarah und in vielen asiatischen Instrumenten ist das Urbild eines Schnabel-Instrumentes mit einem Rohrblatt vorgebildet.
Von meiner schon sehr alten B-Klarinette mit vielen Gebrauchspuren ist es das von mir sogenannte Herz(Klappen) zusehen. Die Gesamlänge meines Instrumentes beträgt 68 cm.
Die abgebildeten Klappen befinden sich im Unterstück dicht unter dem Oberstück.
Die Klarinette ist überall zu Hause, z.B. Klassik, Kammermusik, Jazz, Blasorchster, Klezmer, sie hat einen warmen runden Ton, kann aber auch schrill klingen.

The clarinet is considered a "young instrument", in reality it is quite old, its history goes back to antiquity. For example, in the ancient Egyptian arghul, the Arabic zummarah and in many Asian instruments the archetype of a beak instrument with a reed is preformed.
From my already very old Bb clarinet with many traces of use it is the so-called heart (keys). The total length of my instrument is 68 cm.
The illustrated keys are located in the lower part just below the upper part.
The clarinet is at home everywhere, e.g. classical music, chamber music, jazz, brass orchestras, klezmer, it has a warm round tone, but can also sound shrill.

Back to a sunset at Worthing beach,It was a day when I thought the cloud would obscure the setting sun but to my delight the cloud bank turned into pure gold for me then the sun squeaked through a gap in the cloud .
The tiny gold button is surrounded by tiny silver buttons (that happen to look like Christmas decorations, which I thought was appropriate given the month) and a thimble to the left. I love sewing accessories although I do not sew myself!

Der Hanstein - um ihn ranken sich Sagen und Legenden. Er gilt als die schönste Burgruine in Mitteldeutschland und prägt mit seiner unverkennbaren Silhouette das Bild des Eichsfeldes.
Landschaftlich liegt die Burg Hanstein in einer der attraktivsten Gegenden des Eichsfeldes. Wenn man auf dem erhalten gebliebenen Bergfried steht und hinunterschaut, sieht man zur rechten Hand in der Ferne die Berge des Thüringer Waldes, daran anschließend den Hohen Meißner, im Norden die Göttinger Berge, davor den Rusteberg, dann die Berge des Eichsfeldes und schließlich liegt vor einem das Werratal. Durch ihre Lage ist diese Silhouette von Westen aus schon weit erkennbar.

As it ages, the hat "deliquesces" and rolls up and turns black. This mushroom can be found from early summer to late autumn. Beware of old specimens, however. They dissolve within a few hours and are then inedible.

The brightly colored Gilt-edged Tanager (Tangara cyanoventris) is ENDEMIC to Brazil. It's a small bird about 13 cm in length.
We found this individual in a mixed flock foraging in the company of other species.
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. The Gilt-edged Tanager feeds on fruits and insects
Here's part of the oldest tree in Amsterdam's Hortus Botanicus, a Turkish Hazel against Autumn Blue. It was planted here in 1795 when the Hortus had already been in this spot in the Amsterdam Plantage well over a hundred years (1682). The garden was founded in 1638 as a Hortus Medicus; and moved to new grounds at the central hospital in 1664. From there to the present location.

The Gilt-edged Tanager is a stunning inhabitant of lowland evergreen forest and secondary forest in Eastern Brazil from Bahia south to São Paulo. Gilt-edged Tanagers are brilliantly colored with orange-yellow upperparts with black streaking on the nape and back, black throat patch, turquoise breast and a green belly and undertail coverts.

In China gilt die Litschi, wo sie seit über 3000 Jahren kultiviert wird, als edelste aller Obstsorten und als Liebesfrucht. Sie wächst in Rispen von bis zu 30 Früchten am Litschibaum.. frisch aus der roten noppigen Schale gepult, schmeckt das perlmuttweiße saftige Fleisch fein aromatisch süß-säuerlich.

Immer wieder erstaunlich, auf welchen vermeintlich unwirtlichen Standorten Bäume wurzeln und es doch schaffen, in die Höhe zu wachsen - hier auf dem Basaltstock auf dem Gipfel des Mittenbergs (Střední vrch) bei Preschkau (Prysk) im Lausitzer Gebirge. Im Hintergrund ist der Kleis (Klíč) zu sehen, der mit seiner Pyramidenform einer der bekanntesten Berge in Nordböhmen ist.

Die Göltzschtalbrücke ist eine Eisenbahnbrücke im sächsischen Vogtlandkreis. Sie ist die größte Ziegelstein-Brücke der Welt. Das Viadukt mit insgesamt 98 Bögen gilt als Wahrzeichen des Vogtlandes und überspannt zweigleisig auf der Bahnstrecke Leipzig–Hof das Tal der Göltzsch zwischen den Orten Reichenbach im Vogtland (Ortsteil Mylau) und Netzschkau.
The Göltzschtalbrücke is a railway bridge in the Saxon Vogtland district. It is the largest brick bridge in the world. The viaduct with a total of 98 arches is considered a landmark of the Vogtland and spans the Göltzsch valley on two tracks on the Leipzig–Hof railway line between the towns of Reichenbach im Vogtland (Mylau district) and Netzschkau.
Seit Ende 2017 gilt der neue Verkehrsvertrag auf der Gäubahn.
Seit dem ist der gewohnte Nahverkehr aus roten Loks, Wagen und Triebwagen leider Geschichte.
Was davor ein roter 425 war, ist nun ein bwegter Hamster. Die REs mit 146/111 und Dostos wurden durch IC2, Anfangs mit 146, später dann mit 147 ersetzt. Nur die mit SBB-Wagen gefahrenen IC in die Schweiz haben sich als einzige Konstante bis heute gehalten, einzig die Bespannung wechselte von DB-Loks auf ÖBB-Taurüssel.
Aber diesmal passt der Anfang und der Titel eigentlich besser den je!
Vom 20.05.22 bis 22.05.22 war die Gäubahn zwischen Sulz (Neckar) und Rottweil aufgrund von Bauarbeiten gesperrt.
Nördlich von Horb war kein SBB-IC anzutreffen. Dafür aber ein IC2-Umlauf, zwei Hamschter Umläufe und ein Umlauf mit 111 ohne Steuerwagen!
111 125 war an der Seite gen Sulz und 111 169 auf der Seite gen Stuttgart. Die jeweils nicht als Zuglok fungierende 111 wurde während der Fahrt kalt mitgeführt.
Dadurch waren Motive für Nord- und Südlok umsetzbar in dem bequemen 4-Stunden Pendel, welches die Umläufe an den Tag legten.
So auch am RE52782 von Sulz nach Stuttgart Hbf, als 111 169 die drei Dostos und die 111 125 (kalt) durch den ehemaligen Bahnhof von Eutingen (Gäu) zu ihrem nächsten Halt nach Bondorf (bei Herrenberg) zog.

Big Daddy gilt als die höchste Düne des Gebietes und eine der höchsten weltweit. Big Daddy soll eine Höhe von 325 m bis 380 m erreichen. Sie ist Teil des UNESCO-Welterbes „Namib-Sandmeer“.
Die Salzpfanne des Sossusvleis liegt in der Mitte des Namib-Naukluft-Parks in der gut 32.000 Quadratkilometer großen Dünen- oder Zentralnamib.
Aus der scheinbaren Leere und Endlosigkeit leitet sich die Bedeutung des Nama-Wortes für die Namib ab: Auf Deutsch heißt es „leerer Platz“ oder „Ort, wo nichts ist“. Dennoch befindet sich hier durchaus etwas, denn den Besuchern präsentieren sich die höchsten Dünen der Welt.
Mit Höhen bis über 300 Metern erheben sich die Sandberge einem Amphitheater gleich rund um die riesige Salzpfanne, auch Vlei genannt („Sossus“ -> „blinder Fluss“, „Vlei“ -> Salz-Lehm-Pfanne).
Der Paradieskranich gilt als Nationalvogel Südafrikas, erreicht eine Größe von 110 bis 120 cm und ein Gewicht zwischen 4,8 und 5,4 kg. Die Flügelspanne beträgt 180 bis 200 cm. Die Männchen sind größer als die Weibchen. Genauso wie der Jungfernkranich (Anthropoides virgo) hat er einen vollständig befiederten Kopf. Weiter ist er durch das Fehlen der roten Gesichtshaut gekennzeichnet. Das Gefieder ist überwiegend schiefergrau. Der Kopf ist fahl graubraun. Die Iris ist dunkelbraun. Die Beine sind schwarz und der Schnabel rosagelb gefärbt. Besonders auffällig sind die schwarzen inneren Armschwingen, die bis auf den Boden reichen können. Lose Federn an den Wangen und am Obernacken verleihen dem Kopf eine auffällige kobraförmige Form. Die juvenilen Vögel sind heller. Bei ihnen fehlen die verlängerten Armschwingen.

The blue crane is the national bird of South Africa, reaching a size of 110 to 120 cm and a weight of between 4.8 and 5.4 kg. The wingspan is 180 to 200 cm. The males are larger than the females. Just like the Demoiselle Crane (Anthropoides virgo), it has a fully feathered head. It is also characterised by the absence of red facial skin. The plumage is predominantly slate grey. The head is pale grey-brown. The iris is dark brown. The legs are black and the bill is pinkish yellow in colour. The black inner arm wings, which can reach down to the ground, are particularly striking. Loose feathers on the cheeks and upper neck give the head a striking cobra-shaped form. Juvenile birds are lighter in colour. They lack the elongated arm wings.
