Gilgit, 01 February: The spiraling inflation has added to the woes of people of Gilgit-Baltistan.First the region was battered by landslide and then by worst flooding in recent history.The economic loss due to the calamities has made life very difficult for thousands of poor living in the region.

To reach Yasin one must take the Karakoram Highway north from Islamabad, and then turn left to reach Gupis in Ghizar. After Gupis, one continues northwest to reach the Yasin Valley. Yasin valley has a spectacular natural beauty.

This land was made arable by an AKRSP-supported project that pumps water from a source on the other side of the river enabling this land to become arable and economically prpductive to the local villages.
