Look what I found...
Somebody who loves me.

Somebody who carry 'round a piece of my heart
just laying on the ground.

Sun Pillar to the left of Mount Rainier, the shadow of Rainier across the clouds to the right, and ice on the Harbor at the lower right.....
Photo taken from a pile of discarded gig posters. I believe this was from a recent Guns N Roses tour. This image has been processed in SilkyPix retro cinema film simulation from my Lumix camera
I do hope people enjoy this image because both my camera and I got a soaking by a freak wave during the taking of it. I know Canon strongly recommend a saltwater bath for their equipment each year - or at least that's about how often it happens to me. Astonishingly, a quick wipe dry and the equipment all seems to be working perfectly - phew. Watch this space for the effects of salt and sand over the next few weeks.
The image is of volcanic rock detail above the sea in the bay of Los Gigantes on Tenerife.

Every local photographer has a few shots from this location in Gig Harbor. It's a challenge to try to see it in a new way so I kept this one kind of low key and moody as I remembered the scene after sunset. It is probably not a good calendar candidate without some summer sun. The clear air of winter and some fresh snow comes through for me every time though. The setting sun was at an angle so the polarizer helped out a lot. Thank you for your kind visits and comments my friends! :)

Goodbye Gigi...
Gigi ci ha lasciati ed ora vola finalmente libero in un cielo senza dolore e sofferenza.
Ciao caro Amico mio, ovunque tu sarai, rimarrai sempre con noi.
Gigi has left us and he now flies finally free in a sky without pain and suffering.
Good bye my dear Friend, anywhere you will be, you will remain always with us.

Ho un Uccello in primavera
Che per me sola canta -
La primavera ammalia.
E quando l'estate s'avvicina -
E quando la Rosa appare,
Il pettirosso se n'è andato.
Ma non me ne rattristo
Sapendo che l'Uccello mio
Pur se volato via -
Impara al di là del mare
Nuove melodie per me
E tornerà.
...
Dunque non mi rattristerò,
Sapendo che l'Uccello mio
Pur se volato via
Da un albero lontano
Splendenti melodie per me
Invierà.
Emily Dickinson
--------------
I have a Bird in spring
Which for myself doth sing -
The spring decoys.
And as the summer nears -
And as the Rose appears,
Robin is gone.
Yet do I not repine
Knowing that Bird of mine
Though flown -
Learneth beyond the sea
Melody new for me
And will return.
...
Then will I not repine,
Knowing that Bird of mine
Though flown
Shall in a distant tree
Bright melody for me
Return.
Emily Dickinson
Wrong place at the wrong time not just for the Mole but also for me, I underestimated the angle of the Owls approach when setting up this shot ,I thought of deleting it but will keep it as a reference until get shot I am after, Great to see the Tawny Owls back on my local patch again after they left early spring hopefully to raise a family of healthy chicks; I am looking forward to working with the Chuckle Brothers again this winter on some new ideas we have photographing the wild Owls.
