Peter and Scout are very similar and have become best friends. Peter likes Rosie and has a lovely gift for her, but is nervous about giving it to her. Scout was a gift to Paddy from my friend. He is a Fair Trade Bear hand knitted in Africa. His name comes from the shop my friend found him in: Scout House. He tells me that life was very different where he came from, and Paddy is helping introduce him to many new experiences. Scout catches on quickly, and has proven to be a cheeky, but very lovable member of our closely knit family.

Rosie is Scout's cousin, because like Scout, she is a free trade knitted bear from Africa. She was made in Kenya by one of the Kenana Knitters, Martha Wanjira. She is made from home spun and dyed wool. She was a gift to me from two very dear friends, includng the one who gave Scout to Paddy.

This festive art installation was located at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth, England. The sculpture, which consists of a large stack of wrapped gift boxes, is situated next to one of the area's historic Stothert & Pitt cranes. The cranes were originally part of HMS Vernon, a Royal Navy torpedo branch, and have been preserved as a feature of the Gunwharf Quays shopping centre. I'm having a tough time covering cakes with fondant lately. With this mini cake I used the dried panel method. My only concern with this method is people don't know how to eat it because it's so hard. Using the regular method my cake tends smoosh and I don't get sharp corners. Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

This is my finished demo cake for the class I taught this past Sunday.

Penny (on the left): -Hello! I'm Penny, I'm so happy to meet you! Are you the King's daughter?

Pepper (middle): -No, I'm Pepper. But I recently played one in a play. All the critics said I was perfect. I didn't get enough applause if you ask me.

Penny: -I just met a Lady Brave Knight and she told me you would give me lots of money if I became your friend.

Pepper: -If I had any money I wouldn't spend it that way.

Penny: -I know, but I thought we could be friends anyway...

Pepper: -uh...? for real? you're not pulling my leg?

Penny: -hahaha of course not!

Pepper (stunned): -Well you see... I have a busy schedule but...I suppose...if you insist...we can be friends... yes.

Penny: -Yeah! This makes me so happy!

Pepper: -What's in the giftbox?

Penny: -The Brave Knight gave it to me. She said it's a surprise...

Pepper: -ah. It's one of her Jokey Smurf Joke. It will kaboom for sure. I know! Let's put it in my sister Tammy's bedroom...

And off they went, giggling together.

Yes, this was one of the boxes supplied with a purchase at Anthropologie! The design is actually printed on the box, but it is so authentic, one would never know! It ties in with the decorating theme using fibers, wool, crochet, knitting throughout the store! I'd buy something just for the box!!!! The attention to detail blows my mind! If anyone lives near one of the chains, it's worth the trip! Usually they're found in larger cities. Always a visual treat!
